Hi everyone, I thought it wouldn't be too early to create a page for prospective students applying to Ursuline's second degree accelerated nursing program. I'll be coming in from out of state, and would love to chat with anyone who is interested or already in the program. Good luck and looking forward to meeting you all!

Even if you have taken it before it will not count; you have to take it at Ursuline. The class is basically knowing where ethics plays a role in during nursing. Also, knowing where you stand ethically as a nurse and knowing what to do if you disagree with something ethically as a nurse. Ursuline big thing is clinical hours as I call it "street smarts". The reasoning behind that is the more you practice being a actual nurse the better you will be upon graduation.
Thank you thank you!! My final question is what microbiology course did you take? I see that the nursing website says "clinical microbiology". I am currently in the middle of taking the class except it's just a general 4 credit microbiology class w/ a lab and not "clinical microbiology". I hope it transfers over.

As long as its an accredited school and you have the class with the lab it should be fine. I would double check with admissions just to make sure. People in admissions are really nice and will connect you to the right person.

I am interested in Ursuline's ABSN as well. I have a 3.6 undergrad GPA and A's and B's in the science prerequisites. I am taking microbiology and developmental psychology in the spring and I am wondering what my chances of getting in for summer would look like? I wasn't able to find much online so I thought I would post here for some input!
Well to my knowledge there is no Summer cohort, only Fall (August) and Spring (January). If I had to guess your chances are pretty good but you can always email admissions about your application. The more prerequisites you have done, the better your chances getting in.

Hi! I was just curious what classes are typically like in terms of how they’re graded. Are most classes based on grades simply from quizzes and exams? Or is it more of a mix with exams, papers, and presentations?

For all nursing classes, the grades are split up between assignments and exams. Assignments consists of ppts, paper and some ATI stuff. Exams are your exams, quizzes and proctored exams in some classes. You need at least a 76% in each section to pass the classes.
Hello all I was just accepted into the SDAP program for Spring 2021 although I have the option of choosing fall 2020. I am from out of state and very excited to move and for this opportunity. I wanted to see if I can connect with students here for both fall and Spring cohorts. I will please need information on housing and where to look. Thank you.
