Upper Iowa CEP

Published

Hi everyone! I'm currently on the Maricopa wait list but working towards the Upper Iowa CEP, I will be done with all my classes this summer but I'll be able to apply when they do the May/June application session because only 1 will be in progress. Is anyone currently going through Iowa for the CEP? I'd love to hear feedback from someone in the program, the advisor told me its a great program but personal experience is always nice to hear :)

Hey all,

I have a question about in progress classes when completing the UIU/MCCCD requirements.

So I've been on the MCCCD waitlist since May 2016 and I will be taking BIO205 and COM225 (my last two classes needed) in order to change my application status for the UIU CEP. I've heard that you can have two classes in progress when applying to UIU.

In March I contacted ----------------- at UIU via email to ask about the two classes in progress and she told met that BIO205 is a MCCCD PRE-req and it must be completed prior to applying to UIU. She also stated the UIU only allows their pre-req to be in progress, for me that would mean COM225.

However, I know that BIO205 is a co-req and NOT a pre-req at MCCCD.

I wish I had recognized this discrepancy sooner!

So my question: have any of you applied to the UIU CEP with BIO205 in progress? I am attempting to reach Patricia by phone, perhaps I will have better luck on Tuesday after the holiday weekend.

Thanks everyone! Have a great weekend!

For CEP, you have to have to co-reqs done for MCCD prior to the start of CEP. So yes, you would have to finish BIO 205 first.
