UPMC Mercy School of Nursing -Class of '15

Hi AllNurses community! I have been searching for a thread for the UPMC Mercy Hospital Class of 2015, but alas; no such luck. Therefore, I created one!

I was accepted to start in August 2013 and was looking for others who were, or are looking to be accepted. I know it's early still, but I am ready to start school and secure a study group.

Now to my question: I know Mercy has a tuition contract. Does anyone know anything about it? Is it a good deal? I know they are sending information about it, but I am interested in hearing opinions.

Hi Rae2181, when is Mercy's open house? I will be taking the PSB in two weeks and would love to go to an open house and see what it's like.

Hi nursing rocks! It's on the website but the next one is feb 23.. I take my PSB in a couple of weeks too! Where are you located maybe we can study together?

Ok I realize that some of you passed but I found the best refresher for some subjects for the exam on YouTube!

This was for DNA! This really helped me!

Most of the terms I remember but just braking it down for me was a guardian angel!

I'm taking the PSB next Friday at Shadyside. I'm applying for Mercy with Shadyside as a backup. I'm a little bit nervous about the exam. Hopefully I'll do well!

Hi all,

I just applied to Mercy for fall 2013 admission. I am originally from Pittsburgh but stationed in San Diego. Since I am currently active duty Navy, I used my SAT scores instead of taking the PSB. I am hoping that I get in. How long does it take after you apply to hear back from them?

I'm not sure how long a decision on our applications take. I hope not too long! I'm SO anxious right now!

I anxious and nervous. My high school GPA was only a 2.5. But i graduated in 2004. My current college GPA is a 4.0. Hopefully they will overlook the high school grades. I plan to call them on Monday to make sure they received everything.

I hope Mercy is 2 weeks as well! I think I can do 2 weeks...2 months?? TOTALLY different story! Lol. Navydude, when did you apply? I wouldn't worry too much about your high school grades. You have college credits and you are in the Navy. I think they realize you're a different person then you were 8 or 9 years ago ;o)

I mailed my application in on January 23rd. If it only takes two weeks to make a decision, I should be hear something soon.
