Hi! I wanted to create this forum for people applying to the UPenn MSN programs! I am currently applying for the Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program with a sub specialty. I thought this would be helpful for people to help answer questions, or give updates on application statuses!

@JWEMT Didi you apply for Summer 2023, and did you have an interview before they accepted you last month?

Hi, I got an email but it said "informal" interview with a link attached. What did your guys emails state and who were they from? @amh530 @sunnyssim96

Hey all, 

I also received a request for an informal interview request for BSN-MSN for PMHNP Track. I'm answering one of the previous posts, it was from the track director (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME).

Do we think this is "the interview" to get in? I was confused that it said informal interview and not formal... Other schools said things like "we are pleased to offer you an interview for admissions." so I was confused?! but I am still so excited. @17vusnrn

I think it is. I think the point of using the term informal was to hopefully allow you to be slightly more comfortable. And more of a "conversation" making sure both parties are a good fit for each other. I mean after all, it's a chance for you to interview them.

Overall the interview was very laid back! I applied to the oncology track so the email I received was from that specific director. She was very nice and just asked things like why penn?, why do you want to be an NP?, tell me about yourself. And then she just went over plan of study and some other details about the program! I then had a chance to ask questions. It was more of a conversation and just a chance for them to get to know you. Good luck everyone :)

So my email actually does not state anything as "informal."

It said, she would like me to invite me to an interview for Penn's PMHNP track and listed out 2 dates to see if I am available for those dates. 

And it was not from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) it was from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) (DNP, PMHNP Track clinical coordinator)

I bet they are just dividing out, who is seeing which student, so not only one person does it all. @sunnyssim96 

 

They probably all composed their own email and copy paste. Good luck on your interview ?
