Hi! I wanted to create this forum for people applying to the UPenn MSN programs! I am currently applying for the Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program with a sub specialty. I thought this would be helpful for people to help answer questions, or give updates on application statuses!
Hi everyone,
I had my interview today; I wanted to hopefully ease some anxieties by posting my experience.
I met with my track director, who was very kind and worked really hard to make me feel at ease. The questions were not questions you haven't already considered; these weren't hard questions or clinical scenarios. Simple questions about your reasons for attending, and getting to know YOU. Making your application come to life.
My interviewer was also very transparent about the process and the upcoming steps and was forthright in their recommendation to the admissions committee.
Wishing you all well as you navigate the painful admissions process.
in the initial email he sent me, he simply stated that last interviews were 2/4 as the admissions committee was meeting then. So, I would assume the week of the 6th. As the committee receives those recommendations from the interviewers.
Hope that helps!
@sunnyssim96 I was told we would hear back between 2/15-2/17 at the latest but may hear back sooner
Sounds reasonable to me. Thanks @ctsrn2016!
Anyone thinking about how we are gonna pay for this education?! LOL
Hi guys! So yesterday Yale's decisions came out, not sure if anyone else applied. Anyways I was waitlisted but thats when I was made aware that the majority of their spots go to their GEPN or ABSN students who go straight through to MSN, and a very small amount of people who are RN-MSN get actually admitted. Do we think this is going to be the same for UPENN? Maybe it'll help adjust expectations if anyone knows how many people are being admitted for each specialty?
When I met with the PMHNP track leader, he stated he preferred to admit experienced nurses Vs. the direct entry's nurses. He didn't have a strong proclivity, he really encouraged one year to direct entry students. So, would only take the strongest of the bunch. That was in his words!

Hi all! After reading everyone's comments I just wanted to share that I applied in November for full time AGACNP and got an email for an interview 1/13 and had my interview yesterday. It was very relaxed and with (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME). Afterwards she sent me an email with an attached plan of study - anyone else have a similar experience?
Good luck all!
