Just wanted to know how many people here are planning to apply for the accelerated program at UPenn in 2011? (one starts in the summer)
Between the interviews and the admissions decision at the end of January, not much happens. I think I had to turn in a midterm grade report for the classes that were in progress. I submitted my financial aid information after the interview. It was mostly waiting.
As for the interview, it wasn't bad at all. And it doesn't matter if you do your interviews on the phone or in person.
so applications were due last friday 10/15. I applied to the BSN/MSN for the FHNP program. Has anyone received an invite to the interviews later this Fall? for any of the specialities?
I was also accepted to Jefferson's FACT program and I am trying to figure out my chances of getting into Penn while stalling paying the 500$ nonrefundable deposit for Jeff. eeek.
I am sure other people are in the same boat. so who got an interview?
Thanks for responding. I got that email too, one minute after my application was submitted. It seemed like it was general email and not reflective of their intention to interview me! But its great to get a heads up about the interview dates. I would still expect to get an actual -invitation to interview- if Penn was considering me.
so, hopkins76 and anyone else, lemme know if you hear anything!
I also cant make the info session on saturday, even though I live in Philly... so if anyone finds out more about the acceptance process lemme know! I am just looking for clues....
@ amojo99, where did you hear that most people get an interview? that seems surprising to me since they have a high number of applicants and a low acceptance %. but I'd love to know more if thats what you found out. maybe they are group interivews?
@nvsmom, Filomena said that it is possible to be accepted in the BSN and not the MSN. You have to choose one to apply to but its possible to apply to the BSN/MSN and only get into the BSN. altho she made it sound sort of unusual. I went to the open house last spring and she said that the BSN admission committee meets and accepts you and then the MSN accepts you. So its possible to be accepted as a BSN and then rejected as an MSN applicant. but again she was sort of vague and made it sound rare since I guess the point is to admit students into the MSN track. If accepted into the BSN/MSN prgoram, you will receive two acceptances: one for BSN and one for MSN. My GRE scores are not so great so I was all over this question!
If anyone hears anything about getting an actual interview invite please post! good luck.

Amojo, one last question...what is the process after you submit your application? I know we have interviews in November/December, but what happens between the interview and January/February?
Thanks!
