Update on ECPI??? Current Students or Grads??

U.S.A. North Carolina

I havent seen any information on ECPI's lpn program on here since 2009... Just wanted to start a new thread on here and see if any new, past students or grads have any opinions on their program. I already know its expensive and accelerated. I'm entering the program in August (Charlotte, NC) and could use information on your experience there. I'm mentally prepared to study in this program like its summer classes in a cc. I'm interested in both in-class opinions and how your experience has been after graduation. Are you happy with what you learned there? Would you do it again? Have you had a problem getting a job since your lpn credentials are from ECPI? Are you immediately dropped if you fail a test? Have any lpn grads been able to enter a lpn to rn program coming from ECPI??? etc. Just ANYTHING you'd like to share is much appreciated!

Have you guys found anyone who will take ECPI's credits? (Didn't have any previous courses and now having a hard time finding a lpn to RN bridge program by of prerequisites).... HELP! !

Unfortunately I have found no one will take ECPI LPN credits. The A&P doesn't have the lab component, the other classes are not enough credit hours to transfer. I had to take everything over for my bridge program.

Agreed- ECPI credits are only good for transfer in Virginia.

Koko4christ Thanks for your feedback I'm sorry for the very late response. I started in March & I agree SACRIFICE was needed. I barely passed first 2 terms while maintaining a full time work load but next term will be much better because I'm going part time!

ANY Updates!!! Im interested on ECPI Raleigh and i would like more info about it (current)

Hello NurseBrown15, good to hear ayou are decreasing your work load lol. I went from working part time to not working at all but I am greatful for my now husband who supported me through it every step of the way, in fact I just had wedding June 28, yes I planned a wedding while going to Ecpi and it was not easy but I thank God for getting me through it. I say this to say that it is possible, just hang in there, keep focus and you will make it through. So what class are you in now and who is your instructor?? I am currently in 238 graduating next week!!!!

What is it you want to know?? I can try to help....I am graduating next week!!!

Its great to see this post is still going... The O.P. (me) is now 2 classes away from graduating from the Charlotte program. For those who know the program, I'm getting ready to finish my final next week in 236. I thank all for the initial input when I was clueless about what the ECPI journey would bring. Whew, it has been a journey!! But well worth it! With the exception of one, I've had some BANG OUT teachers that have taught me so much. I will say the hospital experience (clinicals) is much better than the LTC clinicals... Its where everything you learn starts to all tie in together.

JessTarod, Take your prerequisites while searching for a bridge program. If youre in the Chrlotte area, I believe the community colleges offer an accelerated BIO 168&16 during the summer, which mmay also be offered during the spring and fall semesters. I took these classes during the summer a few yrs ao and did my Microbiology class at Gaston College.

Hey I'm new to the conversation. . I am really leaning towards the lpn program at ecpi but have seen nothing but negative information accept for this post. I want to know for the graduates how was it finding a job afterwards? Was it hard? Did ecpi help? And was the pay what you expected? Just trying to do my research. Thanks

Hello everyone! I just graduated from ECPI (LPN) in Greenville SC August 22nd of this year. Let me let yall, it was NOT easy! We started out with 30 in our class and only 7 from our original class pinned. It's very challenging but my instructors were great, more like a family. The last class we took were nothing but NCLEX Review for 5 weeks and we even had to complete questions at home and also wrote a paper about the Rules of Delegation for LPNS and their scope. Kaplan is used throughout ECPI in Greenville, SC and it is what helped us all to pass! I took my test in 40 minutes with 85 questions. Don't not be intimidated by the cost or how fast paced it is, you can do it!

Hello all did anyone receive financial aid??? If so did the financial aid cover the whole tuition?

Well for me, I was unemployed while in ecpi, so I got wia funds which paid 8k toward my tuition. With school loans and grants included, I paid nothing out of pocket but still owe 11k to student loans rather than owing the school any money.
