Update on ECPI??? Current Students or Grads??

U.S.A. North Carolina

I havent seen any information on ECPI's lpn program on here since 2009... Just wanted to start a new thread on here and see if any new, past students or grads have any opinions on their program. I already know its expensive and accelerated. I'm entering the program in August (Charlotte, NC) and could use information on your experience there. I'm mentally prepared to study in this program like its summer classes in a cc. I'm interested in both in-class opinions and how your experience has been after graduation. Are you happy with what you learned there? Would you do it again? Have you had a problem getting a job since your lpn credentials are from ECPI? Are you immediately dropped if you fail a test? Have any lpn grads been able to enter a lpn to rn program coming from ECPI??? etc. Just ANYTHING you'd like to share is much appreciated!

Sorry to bug you again, but do you know how soon the clinicals begin once class starts? Have you already started your clinicals? I ask for a specific reason....

I start in November so about 6 months into the program

Hi how is the program going since you started? I start in September. Just wanted to know because I have heard horrible things also.

It's going good! Fast past but good! A lot of studying.

Is the September class a day or night program? I was told by the admissions counselor that for the day program, you pretty much cannot work while doing the day program... And she says that is why the retention rate is what it is... Just wanted to make others aware of this because I think some may not have been told this before they start. I cannot speak for the evening program, but I know that is considered part time, so the night option may work better for some if they need to work.

I went on the advice of people who have been successful in the lpn/rn programs... People who have bad experiences are going to run and post something bad when they have been thrown out, dropped out or etc...

Just wondering if someone could tell me how the Kaplan exams work. Do you take them after each nursing course? What happens if you fail it? Thanks!

Well the exam that actually gets you licensed is taken after you complete all of your classes. If you fail it the first time it can be retaken, but I'm not sure if the wait is 30, 60 or 90 days. Specifically at ECPI, Kaplan and Saunders practice exams are required practice (part of your passing grade) from your 2nd semester until program completion.

If anyone of you are still in the ECPI LPN Raleigh NC give me some feed back on how it is going so far. I will be starting in March 2013.

Hello Nursebrown, congrats on your acceptance. I am currently a student at ecpi raleigh, I will be done in August. So far my experience in the program overall is good. I would highly recommend it to any one but its no walk in the park at all. You will have to sacrifice a few things and sleep is being one of those things I personally sacrificed in the beginning to study and get the hang of how to study for such an accelerated curriculum but you will get use to the way the program work, trust me, really fast. You have to dedicated and motivated.

Study, study, and study. Be sure to network because it Will make it a lot easier for the journey.

If you have any specific question to ask, do so and I would be sure to get back to you as soon as I can.

To answer your question. Yes you will be taking Kaplan quizes and an Integrated towards the end of the term but that's when you start 117 or 118 I believe not quit sure of the numbers but the integrated one weighs 10% of your grade but theres some kind of curve so whatever you get wont exactly be your grade it will be higher but each term has a certain requirement you must meet to pass. After a certain point if you don't pass you will be required to retake the same test and if you don't pass the second time you will be placed on Kaplan probation.

Basically you retake and if you dont pass the second time, you are placed on Kaplan probation but don't worry it wont affect you moving on to the next tem but that mean you would have pass the next integrated because they are watching you. Just take advantage of the resources they give you and when you do the quizzes remediate, It helps.

Have you guys found anyone who will take ECPI's credits? (Didn't have any previous courses and now having a hard time finding a lpn to RN bridge program by of prerequisites).... HELP! !
