With both my pregnancies, my docs and I agreed to put an end to MgSo4 at 35 weeks. I had long-standing PTL, so my babies were both sufficiently stressed, and steroided, and both were girls. We continued terbutaline up to 37 weeks, and 36 weeks respectively, based on what my body could toerate.
If we had a new PTL patient come in at 35 weeks, however, we would have used MgSo4 if needed. At 36 weeks we would settle for hydration and terbutaline.
