Hello everyone,

I just received an acceptance for the RPN to BScN program at UOIT/Ontario Tech U. I'm so overjoyed that I finally got in as it took me about 3 tries to get this spot. Any alumni or anyone currently doing this program? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Hi there - just finished the program in April 2021. I was at Oshawa's north campus. The program is flexible. I'm not sure how they do it now, but we were all automatically put into the full time bridge program. I went straight through and followed the cohort as is, but many of my classmates had jobs, kids, families, etc. If someone needed a semester off, or to take less classes per semester or whatnot, the Faculty Advisors were fantastic in helping students figure that out. Your Faculty Advisors are a very valuable source, you'll get to know them well! I felt UoIT handled this aspect of bridging very well. They are very flexible and will work with you so that you can eventually graduate. Good luck! ?

Thank you so much! I will definitely try to stay in the full time program as long as I can. It seems like the Faculty Advisors are really great resources and I am glad to be getting the support I will need in order to make my decision on whether or now I need to go into part time. Thank you again for your response and congratulations on graduating this year! ?

I did the full time cohort and worked only casually, but would often go long stretches without working at all. Many of my classmates did work part time, had families, etc. It's a lot for sure, but they got through it.

I work fulltime so might have to give up work at this point since I want to do well in the program. How was the program overall if you don't mind me asking? Were the profs supportive, the workload doable? And possibility of getting A's?

Congratulations! I received an offer from both Barrie,  North Oshawa and George Brown College bridging program full time. I am not sure which school I want to attend! Maybe I will see you around campus in the Fall 2022. I have some grandparents who live in Wasaga maybe better for me to commute from there to Barrie compared to living on residence at North Oshawa.

Hey, sorry for this late reply. I have been busy with school (it's currently our finals week.) Where did you decide on going?

No worries! Hope all went went well with your finals. I ended up deciding Ontario Tech University in Oshawa!
