Unreal interview

Published

I just had an interview with a hospital in the southwest and it was unreal. They are hiring telemetry nurse and you must be ACLS current. Thats fair enough. During the interview they ask me if i know how to insert a central line. I tell them that that's not in my scope of practise. Then they ask if I know how to insert a picc line and I tell them am not a trained IV nurse all i can insert is a regular IV then she says oh thats what i ment.

Down to benefits, They offer health insurance and it kicks in 2-3months after hire depending on your start date. The nurse recruiter had tipped me on the bonus they are offering. The interview didn't mention it at all so i asked her about it and she said it's at the discretion of the nurse manager. The she talked about holidays, she said that they celebrate the holidays but you will not get paid unless you work. however, you are expected to work them.

I almost told the lady that i am not a volunteer service but guys beware before you work for people don't let them use you. If they feel nursing is that easy let them do it. We paid our dues and they need to know this

No Kidding, This lady kept on discribing the kind of clientelle that they cater to, affluent. she also mentioned that i might have to fluff their pillows alittle more and on and on. In that interview it was clear that she is trying to promote the notion of two americas guys be ware of these crazy people

Are you in scottdale az(you may have to fluff their pillow alittle more) affluential, Kissup a little more, to be the kind of personal maid they want,if not,:lol2::lol2::lol2: you will certainly not fit in as a nurse.

It is unfortunate that some patients acutaul think we are maids and that they are in a spa or resort instead of hospital. welcome to the world of nursing.

don't worry too much about this, there are other places

however

maybe what she meant was that if you didn't accrediation for certain procedures they would provide training

as for working holidays in the health field many if not most people have to sacrifice time away from family thee is extra pay and days off

we have a nursing home in this area acouple of them really, where there is no state or medicare reimbursemnet..the residents are use to calling the shots and they have a passel of children and family members who like to strut their stuff also they usually a very low patient-nurse ratio but you pay for it inother ways

move on, you will find the exact right place for you
