UNLV SON Spring 2014??

Hi all, wondering if anyone is applying to the nursing program at UNLV for spring 2014? This kills me to ask; but if so, how many points do you have and what makes you want to be a nurse? Good luck to all those hopeful nurses out there☺☺☺

Yay, I'll see you there! Does anyone know what to expect? I know we have to pay for our uniforms, background check, and drug test, but otherwise do they just go over the contract with us? I guess orientation is different from the contract signing from what I've read. :bored:

Yeah i have no idea either. I'm so excited nonetheless! But I think they'll go over the program itself kinda vaguely so we have a feel to it? I dont know for now. But if I gather some info I'll let you know! Have you started looking for shoes yet?

I am attending the 15th. It is at 1:00pm, right? I was so excited by the call, just want to make sure I got all the information written down correctly :)

Yup! Me too! I forgot all questions I planned to ask if ever they called. Lol! These are what I had written down: Nov 15 (Fri) 1-4pm, room number, bring credit card and.. did they say we're getting the letter of acceptance over there?

I believe she told me that the letter will come in the mail.

sourpatch, I'll be at the November 18 orientation :) is the contract signing separate from the orientation?

From reading the older UNLV SON posts, it looks like the contract signing and orientation are different events. I kind of gathered that from last year's handbook, also. http://www.unlv.edu/sites/default/files/24/Nursing-StudentHandbook-BSN.pdf

I ended up changing my date because I have a ton of deadlines on the 15th. See you on the 18th :)

Like if someone couldn't enter the program for some reason? It probably wouldn't hurt to ask, but I would wait until next Tuesday after the contract signings are done so they don't get annoyed at you asking while they're so busy (they're all very nice, but I know we were warned about calling times at the signing session). It would be a shame if the semester started without a full class considering how competitive it is.
