UNLV NURSING-Spring 2022 COHORT

Published

Hello everyone! I created this in order for us UNLV pre-nursing students who are applying for Spring 2022 admission to share HESI A2 exam scores and to ask questions. It would be greatly appreciated if you guys post your HESI scores, points, and stats :)

Goodluck everyone!

If you got in, message me on here! I created a group me group chat and I will send you the link ?

Ahh I’m not able to send you a message because I haven’t made 15 posts yet. Is there any other way I can be sent the link?

Hey guys! Congratulations! Unfortunately, everyone who was supposed to get in would’ve received their acceptance letters by now… thats what I was told by SON… I was also made aware that the cut off was mid 95… it was super high compared to all the other Spring cohorts. currently crying RN but not giving up for next semester!

On your denial letter, did you receive a zeroed out calculation spreadsheet? attached to the email? Ugh I had a few exceptions on my application regarding points and I wanted to make sure they factored everything in.

Hi,

I got my congratulatory email! This was my third time applying so I am relieved to say the least. ?

If you don’t mind me asking, how many points did you apply with?

I did. You mentioned you calculated your score to be 92 right?

Hi everyone,

When I applied for Summer 2021, the cut off was 93.8. When I applied for Fall 2021, the cut off was high 95s.

It's crazy how competitive it is. Best of luck!

Hey guys!

Everyone who’s planning to apply for Summer 2022, are you planning to do anything over the Winter to boost your score?

I'm debating on signing a petition to re-do my HESI and hope for a higher score than 91% to boost my points from a 94.33 to something higher but then again it's during the Summer...do you think it will be as competitive and high of a requirement compared to these last two semesters? Will you be re-applying with the same points? How many points do you have?

Someone mentioned on this thread that for Summer 2021 the cutoff was 93.8 so there’s definitely hope for us applying in the next cohort. Assuming that less people will apply for Summer then there’s a good chance the cutoff will be lower than 95.

For those who petitioned their HESI, did you have to provide proof of an extraneous life circumstance or did you just have to ask for another chance? I just don’t know what to say about it if I try to petition.

Also, I’m at 93.79 RN and I tried to petition an attempt point but they denied me ? I realized it wouldn’t have made a difference for this cohort since I would’ve gotten 94.79 if they approved of me but the cut off was mid 95 so….

if I get an A for Chem during the Winter Ill be applying with 95.6 so that’s the only thing keeping me going at this point ? otherwise I would’ve been giving up RN hahahaha

It even said on the email that for each application signing, the cutoff scores change so Im hoping the cutoff score is around 93s like last year. Are you taking Guerra for Chem 108? I had her (she's amazing!)

I’m thinking of retaking Chem as well to improve my score. I got an 96.5 on my HESI so it’s really my only option. Any recommendations for a Chem professor to take??

Do Jennifer Guerra! I had her for UNLV and I ended up with an A! (: How many points do you have so far? I applied for Spring 2022 but was off one point to get in ): hopefully Summer 2022 isn't as competitive and hopefully the cut off score will be lower than 95

I was thinking about taking her!! How were her lectures? Would you say they aligned well with her exams?
