UNLV NURSING-Spring 2022 COHORT

Published

Hello everyone! I created this in order for us UNLV pre-nursing students who are applying for Spring 2022 admission to share HESI A2 exam scores and to ask questions. It would be greatly appreciated if you guys post your HESI scores, points, and stats :)

Goodluck everyone!

Hello everyone,

I will be applying to Spring 2022 of the UNLV Nursing program and I would like to share what I got to see where others are at when applying to this program!

I got all my attempt points so that would be a 15.

In my classes I received:

KIN 223: A- 3.7

KIN 224: A. 4

BIOL 251: A. 4

NURS 299: A. 4

MATH 124: A. 4

CHEM 108: B. 3

These were all on my 1st attempt which is why it stays at 15 points and I took my HESI A2 recently and scored an overall of a 93%.

HESI A2: 93% (Here is a breakdown on each section)

Reading: 84%

Math: 92%

Grammar: 100%

A&P: 96%

Also, I have my rebel extra half-point which is a 0.5 that gets added to our nursing calculation sheet.

UNLV EXTRA: 0.5

Overall after I put everything together to find where I stand my total points stand at 95.65 which I believe is very good but I want to know where others stand. If anyone has any questions fill free to ask. Also, does anyone know when the signing for the Spring of 2022 starts? I know the deadline is in October I just have no idea when it starts.

Best of luck to everyone!

I must ask, what did you use to study for the HESI grammar section? Thats literally a perfect score.

Thank You! I had to do a lot of studying to get that score but mainly nursehub and the extra study help on nursehub really helped me get that perfect score! The extra help on nursehub was only 10 dollars and that helped me out so much.

Hi everyone!
I applied to the UNLV nursing program for Fall 2021 with 94.2 points, I am excited to say that today I passed my HESI with a 96.5% and I will be applying for the Spring 2022 cohort with 96.5 points( which is higher than the cutoff from fall semester)

Hopefully this is enough to finally get in the program and pursue my dream in becoming a Nurse ?

What did you guys use to study reading and anatomy? I’m using Nursehub and the Joshua files right now but I’m scared I won’t get the scores I need

Your A&P textbook is your best friend. I used nursehub and the A&P textbook and scored 100% for that section. Nursehub is very similar but I also wanted to get clarifications on certain questions so I would go to my textbook for subjects that I wasn’t entirely confident with.

@A_gutii oh no, this is my first applying to the program with a 95.47. The first time I applied with a 90 and the second time I applied with a 92. I had to retake chem , and the HESI and petitioned one of my attempts to get my overrall score to a 95.47. It’s been a journey LOL.

Hey! Good job getting your points up I know how hard it can be ? I definitely think you will make it in! how many times did you take your HESI exam? I have taken it twice already but I’m only at 93 points and want to take the HESI again to increase my points but I’m not sure if I can take it a 3rd time.

@liza028

hey! I took the HESI 3 times actually ?. I petitioned one of my HESI attempts. I was allowed to take it again. I got a 93.5 on my third attempt. Also, thank you for the kind words. I really do hope it’s enough to get in for Spring ?

@steffyrn1202

So good to hear that I could possibly take it a third time! How did you petition your attempt? Like who did you contact or go about doing that?

@liza028

Actually ------------------- suggested that I petition one of my HESI attempts. He said it would be a long shot but somehow I got it approved. I emailed him about a grade for one of my classes and he gave some suggestions on how I can improve my score. I didn’t think about petitioning my HESI attempts and Kin 223 attempts until he told me. So try contacting him!

Hi, everyone! Fall was crazy competitive. What do you guys think the cut-off would be for Spring 22? I heard Spring is generally less competitive than fall and historically the cut-off is around 93s.

Am I the only one nervous about getting in for Spring? The cut off is usually around 92-93 but I have a feeling it’ll be higher this time around.
