UNLV NURSING Spring 2021 COHORT

Published

Hey guys! So fall 2020 was SO competitive! I made this forum because Spring 2021 application season is around the corner. What points are you applying with? What points are you re-applying with? Let's get some ideas what our cut off may be! I hope we all get in this time around.

I’m at 96 the range is 100.07 to 93 I believe and the fall cut off was a little over 94. I would guess the Spring to be the same maybe 93 gets in but not many people have posted yet.

Hi yall! I took my HESI yesterday and I'll be applying with just shy of a 97, I have my signing session on the 1st so ill keep you guys updated! I hope everyone gets in!!

I applied for the Fall Semester with a 94.1 and I didn't get in so I'm reapplying for the Spring. I believe the cutoff was a 94.5

Hey y’all! I finally completed the pre-reqs and the HESI. I calculated my score to be 94.93.

I hope that it’s enough to get in. Please share your scores so that we can get a better understanding in regards to where we stand among the applicants.

Good luck to us all! ?

Hi everyone! First off, thank you @unlvfuturenurse94 for making a 2021 Spring forum for us! The fall was super competitive! I retook my HESI today and got a 94.5%! My HESI the first time was an 88%. I believe I'm applying with a 95.84. Does someone think they could double check my points to see if I did the math correctly?

I have A's in:

A&P 223 &224, Math, and Nurs 229

I have a B+ in Microbiology

And I have a B in Chemistry

My HESI score is 378 and I don't get the extra .5 for rebel recognition

Thanks everyone! Good luck you guys! My signing session is October 9th

@essentialwellnessmama Calculated your points and it came out around 95.1 for me, hopefully someone else can double check that as well!

Just completed my signing session today, goodluck to everyone applying! Results should be sent out the first week of November.

@essentialwellnessmama Hello! If you don't mind me asking, was the second time you took the HESI harder than the first time? I am retaking mine on October 9th since I feel like I could have done better. My first HESI averaged to about 92%. I didn't do that good for the reading comprehension portion (I got an 88%).  I was just wondering if the questions for all sections are harder for the retake. I have heard some people say that they got the same questions from the first take and some have said that it was harder. Thank you in advance! Good luck to you and to everyone!

@nicolepadua my questions were completely different, but I wouldn't say any harder or easier. I highly suggest taking practice exams on the HESI apps. Those were super helpful. Reading comprehension was my worst both times (I got an 88% this last time on the reading). I ended up with 100% on A&P and 98% in math, so if you have those down, you'll still end up with a good score. I have a hard time focusing on a computer and reading that much on a screen. I do suggest taking the reading comprehension first though since it is the longest section. Good luck! You'll probably do great, especially since you had a good score the first time you took it!

Hey guys, is anyone applying to the accelerated second degree they are offering on Spring 2021? There is not much info on this new program in their website.I have applied two times to the normal UNLV BSN program (unfortunately didn't get accepted), but I have a second degree so I am thinking of applying. Have any of you hear anything about this new program?

Hey guys, it's nice to meet all of you! Thank you for making this forum also! I have my signing session Thursday so I'll let you guys know how it goes. I'm applying with 98.2 points so hopefully, I calculated everything right. But if someone could double-check that would be great!

And my HESI score was also a 378 and I don't get the .5 rebel recognition points either.

Good Luck to everybody and I hope we all get in!!

For those who had the signing session already, what was the process like? Did we just have to turn in the forms they asked for or was there more to it?

Thanks!

Got sent an email the morning of with a set of instructions and a few documents to sign and return. You'll have until 2pm that same day to email everything required back to the advisor. That was pretty much it though, nothing too crazy.
