UNLV NURSING Spring 2021 COHORT

Published

Hey guys! So fall 2020 was SO competitive! I made this forum because Spring 2021 application season is around the corner. What points are you applying with? What points are you re-applying with? Let's get some ideas what our cut off may be! I hope we all get in this time around.

@ScottthenurseGg the cut-off for fall of 2020 was 94.5, so I'd assume the cut-off will be similar for Spring. Have you finished all of you classes and the HESI? If so, email the unlv and let her know you'd like to apply for Spring. I believe there are a couple weeks left. I'm not 100% sure on what the cut-off date is, but it's likely October 30th since they'll be sending out the acceptance emails the following week. I hope that answers your question

Yeah I just emailed and I calculated and I would be applying with 93.3 not sure if that would be enough tho

The cut off two semester ago was like a 91. Last semester was really weird, I think a lot of people applied because they though that nobody was going to apply LOL everyone had the same though I think.

My health science advisor told me that Spring is typically the least competitive to get into, and fall is the most competitive, that's what the trend has been.

mannnnn hopefully it'll be at minimum 93 aha

Someone I know who applied last Spring got in with a 91.8 or 91.9, so I think you'll be fine hehe

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is doing good. If I did the calculation correctly, I should be applying with a 97.32. Good luck to everyone!

Oh cool! Does anyone know when we should get the email about acceptance?

Should know anywhere between Nov. 2-5 since our contract signing is on the 6th.

@nicolepadua hi!! if you don't mind me asking, how was your experience with taking HESI A2 v2? Especially on the A&P portion, I was wondering if it was harder than the first version. Thank you so much ?

Hello! Personally, I found it to be harder than the first version. The first version for my A&P was quite easy and almost like "common" knowledge questions (if that makes sense). But for the second version for my A&P, I had more difficult questions that I was not even able to review. There were also five additional questions for each section. So instead of 25 questions for the A&P section, I had 30 questions. As a result, I did get a lower score for my second try. I went from 92% to 90%. However, don't be discouraged! I have heard of others getting about the same difficulty for their HESI A2 v2. It may have also been just by luck that I was not able to review much on the topics covered for the test that day. Good luck!

@nicolepadua Thank you so so so much for responding so quickly! Do you mind me asking if there are any questions that you remember? Just so I can get an overall understanding of what to expect for the second version (: Again thank you so much
