Hi - wondering if anyone else is graduating in December 2019 and is/has applied for the nurse residency program at UW Madison beginning in the winter. I applied a few weeks ago and heard back about a phone interview. Was hoping we could help eachother out with dates and info!

hi! how did today go for everyone? it was definitely long haha and for me a lot of similar questions to the phone interview! i was told we would hear next week

Hi! Yes in the interview they asked a series of questions similar to the phone interview. Did you get your top choice? I interviewed, but the department wasnt any of my top 3 so I am wondering if it was a mistake or if thats where they feel I would fit best based on my experiences.. They told me i would hear from the recruiter this week or next week

Mine was one of my top 3! I can't remember which order I ranked because I pretty much blacked out during my phone interview haha. Yeah I was surprised the questions were so similar, I thought they would do something completely different from the phone interview. How many people do you think were there?

thats weird that yours wasn't one of your top. maybe it was a mistake or maybe they were placing people where there were openings. I hope it was for a unit you have a little bit of interest in though! sorry that happened.

I dont know because I did a video conference call.

Which unit did you interview for? Did you like the hospital? I interviewed for cardiology intermediate care.

There were many behavioral questions.. “give me an example of a time you were criticized and what did you do about it”?

I froze on that question and asked if we can come back to it!

yes all situation based! if you google top nursing interview questions, those are the ones i would look at and see if you can think of answers for.

I heard back with a phone call the week of November 19th with an offer. They told us we would know either way, so I definitely would reach out to whatever recruiter had been contacting you and ask for an update!

I interviewed twice. The second interview was last Friday and they told me I would find would before Wednesday... still no word. Do they call when you get an offer and do they email if you don't get an offer?
