University of Texas AE MSN Summer of 2014

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi,

I am planning to apply to the 2014 AE MSN program, at UT Austin, in August. I noticed that this site has A LOT of helpful feedback. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best preparations when applying to these competitive programs? My GPA is a 3.6, I have a BS in Health Science, I have worked in health care administration for 14 years and I am ready for a change. I just want to feel confident about my application and would appreciate any advice.

Thank you

I think that is contingent after you have been officially accepted. If i'm not mistaken, I read that somewhere in the "FAQ's" sheet

Got it! Thanks.

For Fall transcripts I read they must be submitted by January 5th, if you are taking pre-reqs this semester. Hope this helps!

I was accepted to the 2013 cohort, but deferred to 2014, and am happy to share what I know of this process.

12/3 interview invitation email

1/18 acceptance email

Good luck to everyone applying!

Atxmitch, I'm sorry but can you explain what you mean when you say you were accepted for 2013, but deferred to 2014?

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Can anyone share what specific Pharmacology class is needed as a pre req

@Natavid, here's the corresponding text from the admissions response form:

"No, I do not plan to enroll for the Summer 2013 semester, however, I request a DEFERRAL of my admission for one year (Summer 2014). I understand that I will have to re-apply to UT-Austin, Graduate and International Admissions Center and pay the application fee for Summer 2014 by the November 1st admissions deadline."

On the email they recently sent out, it said that interviews were going to happen from the end of november till December, so I'm guessing we should be getting our interview invitation pretty soon.

AG92, yes im hoping we all hear something really soon!

For the pharmacology pre-req, I'm taking an online course next semester (ACC). I believe it is HPRS 2300 (Pharmacology for health professionals).

Anyone not in Austin know the UT equivalent for pharm? I want to make sure I register for the right class :-\

Hey guys I got an interview, super excited and scared all at once!
