Does anyone have personal experience with UTC's new ABSN program? Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi! I haven't found any threads regarding UTC's ABSN program, so I thought I'd start one and see if this is relevant to anyone. UTC started their ABSN program about a year ago. I don't think their first cohort has even graduated yet. It might be a long shot, but is anyone from that program on here? I got accepted for the Summer 2024 cohort, but I have a few other schools I'm waiting to hear back from. Would love to hear if anyone has personal experience with this program!

Hi! Did you decide to go to UTC's ABSN program?

Yes, I did! I'm in it now 🙂 Let me know if you have any questions.

How long did it take for you to hear back if you were accepted?

Hi! I'm waiting to hear back from them for the fall semester, about how long did your decision letter take? Also, what's the work load like? In your opinion would working during classes be manageable? Thank you in advance! I've had trouble finding information from students on this program since it seems to be a bit newer.

I think I heard back in 5 weeks. I applied January 15 and heard back at the end of February.

So far, the work load has been manageable for me, even though it is A LOT of work. But I don't have any other responsibilities so I'm able to focus on my studies full time. I think working during classes really depends on your ability to time manage, how many hours you'd be working, and if your job would be flexible with you. There are 1 or 2 girls in my class who are working as PCT's PRN, and I think they work at least 1-2 shifts every 2 weeks. There are other students who quit their jobs right before the program started. So it just really depends. Also, although we have scheduled classes, there are times where the professors need us to come in for extra practice or other things like that, and we have to be free. So it's sometimes hard to plan your life schedule in advance.

I'm enjoying the program so far and I can definitely see that the professors are invested in our success!

Thanks for all of the info! Did you receive acceptance notification via email, mail, or the application portal?

I haven't heard anything back yet, I'm tired of the waiting game! Hopefully soon.

I am waiting to hear back about Fall 2024 as well! The nerves are starting to get to me— I check my email multiple times throughout the day! Wishing everyone the best of luck and hopefully we will receive some news soon!
