Anyone have any insight on this program? I'm in the process of applying and would love to know about the school!

Hello All,

I applied to the summer upper division BSN track the day after it opened. I have a 3.92 overall GPA and a nursing pre req GPA of 4.0. I just got the email today that I got wait listed :..( I thought I would have been competitive enough to get in. I'm upset but I'm hoping and praying maybe I will still be admitted. If not I will apply again for fall term.

I am kinda confused though.... If someone already has a bachelors degree they could apply to both programs ( upper and 2nd deg) and have twice the chance as someone without a degree already??

Also, USF told me they accept 48 per semester. Does anyone know if that 48 includes both Upper division and Second degree admitted students. Or is it 48 of each totaling to 96 admitted per semester???

And those of you that got admitted what was your GPA?

Thanks for your help

I got in too! Summer second degree nursing program!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

USF here I come!

I also got accepted. However, I have already chosen to attend UCF's accelerated program this summer. That means there is another spot open for somebody on the waitlist!

Congratulations everyone :)

When I was up there visiting the advisor I was told that you could apply to both programs but preference in the upper division selection is given to those without degrees already. Sorry but keep your fingers crossed.

Accepted! I am so excited to start in May! USF is my Alma mater and my first choice so I could not be more excited! Can't wait to meet my future classmates!

you might want to ask them what was average gpa for acceptance. i think you have great chance getting in. did you miss any prereqs?? i applied for the accelerated program with 4.0 prereq gpa, and they require us to write essay and to have healthcare exp. we can apply for both, but will choose one. it doesn't mean there is bigger chance to get in. accelerated curriculum looks crazy, and i am not sure i will accept the spot yet. we will see..

Do we have to go to USF's transfer orientation if we were not previously enrolled there? Or does the new student orientation for nursing on April 14/15 count for that? I'm on the alternate list but I am wondering if I should sign up for a transfer orientation or just wait to see if I get in and go to the nursing orientation?

You probably should register anyways just in case. Im sure you will get in, and when you do, you dont want the dates to be filled up. I'm going to call now and see what they say about the new student orientation and the transfer orientation. Hopefully we don't have to attend both but I think we will because that is how some of the other school are doing it.
