Hi! Has anyone applied to the Spring 2022 cohort for BSN-DNP FNP/ACGNP at South Alabama? I’m hoping it doesn’t take 8 weeks to find out if I’m in! Has anyone received an email about acceptance? I’m getting really anxious!

I was told I’m pretty much on my own for clinicals and that came from a friend who barely scraped by. She actually stopped after her MSN because she realized there was no way she could complete the DNP clinicals. She told me that a lot of them had that issues through out the program. She even advised me against going. And she completed it before the pandemic

I’ve heard the same about my area in SC…. Guess we will cross that bridge when we get there!

Yea it sounds super discouraging but I think we are going to face issues regardless of where we attend.
I’m not sure I’m willing to take that type of blind shot. I’m hoping to look at the CAP affiliation list once we get our packet so I can at least be somewhat prepared
Some school actually do clinical placement. I just happen to like the fact that USA offers a dual program BSN to DNP. It’s the only one I found
What other programs are u looking into if u don't mind me asking that are online?
Same reason I applied not many schools offer the dual certs.
USA was the only one I found. It’s the only school I applied for. Too many horrror stories about FNP not being able to find work due to the over saturated job market. The dual degree give you MANY more opportunities and a clear advantage.
I’m just going to roll the dice and hope I can find clinical sites.
I researched a lot of programs…majority of the ones I found did not help with placement.
The online program plus the price of USA appealed to me.
I too have heard the horror stories of not being able to find work due to over saturated market, but at the end of the day.. I want to be a nurse practitioner. So, if I have to wait some time for a job… that’ll be OK. ??♀️
Here’s hoping we all get lucky with clinicals!
That was my thought too. I’ll get a dual degree and hope fit the best. At least I can work inpatient and outpatient. I feel like I have more options. Who knows what the market will look like in four years anyways
Yea same here the facility where I work utilizes alot of NPs, PAs in hospital. USA offers a chance to merge into ACGNP a year into the program, once u gain experience within the preferred setting. Which I liked. I didn't want to have to reapply for a post-cert program after.
I’m not sure how it is where you guys are located but here in NC FNP are limited to outpatient area (doctor office/clinic). ACGNP usually do hospital setting

Did everyone that apply submit for the early deadline? I thought it wasn't until August 31 so I wonder if they accept from both deadlines or if the first submission is full then the extended won't get looked at?
Now that I’m not sure but I think after the first deadline admissions are rolling?
