Hi all!!! I know it is early but I thought I would start this thread. Is anyone else getting their information ready and applying for Fall 2016?
I live in the Bay Area and got my invitation to interview this morning! Does anyone know when the program starts? Keep a look out for your mailman those who live in the bay! I ran right out to my mailbox right after he came. Haha. Good luck to all! Also does anyone know how many they interview vs. accept?
Hi everyone, I'm up in the Bay Area and received an interview letter today. I have already accepted admission to USF for the Spring, so I won't be going to the SD interview. Just wanted to let you Bay Area peeps know that I got my letter today! Good luck to everyone!!! Stay positive :). Wishing you all the best of luck!
Yeah I'd def consider USF! They have a well known program and reputation and I think their MSN CNL program is slightly cheaper. Two of my friends graduated from that program and really liked it. They even had time in the curriculum to study abroad and do a service trip in Seoul, South Korea. Great experience and a way to elevate the resume as well. I also applied there.
On another note for all my Bay Area folks who applied, I just received my letter and was also given an invitation for an interview!!!!
NURSE_AtléticoMadrid said:Congrats KO_1219, in light of USF and USD if you were accepted to both campuses which place captures your attention more? USF is longer than 21 months i reckon. Would you be open to renting by yourself or with a MEPN colleague/classmate? Cheers everyone
It's very difficult to say which campus I would choose. They're pretty even in my book. According to U.S. News, they have USD's Graduate nursing program ranked as #30 in the nation, whereas USF is ranked #129. However, USF is commutable for me, so I can definitely save on living costs and by remaining at my parents' home throughout the duration of the program. USF's program is only 3 months longer, which isn't a deal breaker for me and while being able to save on housing costs, I can probably afford to do the study abroad service trip. Overall, I think I'd rather go to USD BUT there is a lot to consider from a financial and functional perspective. I've never seen the USD's campus either, so maybe I'll fall in love with it a bit more during the interview events. As far as living with a MEPN classmate at USD, it may be possible, but I'd like to test the market out first to see if my girlfriend and I can afford anything on our own first.
