University of Rochester Direct Entry

Anyone out there who has applied to U Rochester's direct entry program (this year or in a past year)? I'm a little concerned because I talked to Nancy Kita right around the beginning of November and she said they'd call in 2-3 weeks since they do an interview with everyone. However, it's been over a month at this point so I'm not really sure what's up with them. Anyone been through this process before and have any idea how it works?

I applied late September and was interviewed 3 weeks later but still waiting on them. They are so vague when it comes to providing info. Why not send her an email asking about the interview. Good luck.

Have you heard anything from them yet? I'm in the same boat. A friend of mind was called right away for an interview and I'm still waiting. I emailed admissions but they have not responded. They did however cash my check. Good luck!

Thanks for your responses. Kinilina, nice to know someone else is in the same boat, but too bad they haven't been responsive. From dealing with them before, I know their administration is awful so I wonder if that's what's causing the hold up. Oh well, I will email Nancy Kita as well and I'll let you know if I get a response....

Slightly OT, but I was at Rochester for 2.5 years with my first degree. It's a really pretty campus.

Hi! I hope this helps and gives you an idea of the school's nutty time-frame with things: I applied for the May 2009 cohort at UR around January 2008. I wanted to stay on top of all the colleges I had applied to, so I harassed the heck out of the administration/staff! I constantly called UR and they kept telling me the same thing: you'll be contacted in the summer for an interview. Sure enough, they contacted me about 5-6 months later for an interview. After the interview (which was in June), they told me I would not hear back from them until October! And, by God's grace, I got my acceptance packet in October. :yeah:
