University of Rochester ABPNN 2017

Published

Hi All,

I looked and didn't see a thread started for Rochester yet, so I thought I would start one. Has anyone applied or heard anything back from the school. I spoke with them recently and they said it would 8-10 weeks before students would know.

I got accepted but I will not be attending. I hope this opens a spot for someone waitlisted. Congrats to everyone accepted.

Hey guys! I applied for the May 2017 start! Does anybody have any info about the clinicals? Is there any exposure to er and critical care departments? Do you guys know what the capstone is like? And do you know if you're going to learn things like ivs?

I also applied to the May 2017 start! I just had my interview last monday. Does anyone know when we are suppose to here about acceptance.

Hi guys!

I am in the process of applying to the Fall 2017 start date-I am a NREMT and a NCPT (nationally certified phlebotomy tech.), and in the application under Education, it says to request all transcripts from all colleges/universities attended...I have from my previous Bachelor's program, but do I also need to request a transcript from the program I was in for my EMT class and my phlebotomy class? (Since those 2 were just certificates).... Otherwise, I'll call admissions to ask!

Wishing everyone luck in the process!

That was nice to say RT2BNP!

I think the acceptance calls begin in February!

Just applied for fall 2017. How was the interview?

Has anyone heard back for May yet?

Hello all,

Can someone please provide any feedback about the program for those that are already in ?

Will you recommend this school? are the classes doable? I am aware we cant work during the program.

Please send me any suggestion (positive/ negative) ?

Thank you !

Hi! I was just accepted to the 2017 ABPNN Program beginning in May! I am sort of in a time crunch and would be hoping I would be able to ask you some questions (specifically about places to live as well as about the program!) thanks!!!

Hi!

long story short - yes

Clinicals are in long term care, peds, OB, psych, medicine, surgery, capstone.

peds has 2 offsite days where you can request a specialty: PICU, NICU, ED, OR, etc...

Med/Surg also has 2 off site days: multiple sites including ED

during your first semester you do long-term care and Acute Care including: cardiac & neuro - maybe some others?

you could also try to get a critical care/ED position for your capstone.

can't tell you about capstone because I haven't started - but essentially you are like a new nurse that is being oriented - you can do everything under supervision except IV placement, blood draw, IV push... I think that may be it?

This is a great program and they try their best to provide you with the most experience possible.

Congrats on those that got in! Let me know if you need books! :)

Hi everyone,

I applied to the January 2018 start date (didn't see a thread or page for Rochester's accelerated nursing 2018) and just had my interview with Marina this afternoon (super informal and I think it went well). I was wondering if anyone knew when I could expect to hear back from the program. I was also wondering if anyone could give some insight on the program thus far.

Thanks:)
