Hi! I'm looking at applying for the ABPNN at U of R. Does anyone know what GPA, major, age, and experiences they are looking for. I completed all the pre-req's and I'm graduating in Dec 14'. I haven't been able to find anyone that was willing to share their background info who already has been accepted in the program! Any details would be GREAT!!
I'm waiting on NYU and Rochester and received a rejection letter from another school...still waiting on more though too! Nursing schools seem to take forever on admission decisions. I'd really love to go to Rochester though, it stands out amongst the other schools I've applied to and I'd be proud to go there!
The wait is driving me nuts. Especially since I'd be moving from California, I'm antsy to hear in case it's a yes, I can get started on living situations and loans. Ohhh, the loans. lol
Well I applied for the September start date but they accepted me for May. I couldn't start in May because they called me only 3 weeks before May 18th and I couldn't finish everything in time. I was told I would go back into the pool for September but I haven't heard anything yet. I'm starting to have a few doubts but I'm not even sure if they have started making the calls yet. Has anyone heard anything yet from Rochester? I was told they start calls in May and into June.
No, I haven't heard anything. I'm pretty antsy though, especially since I'm coming from California. That's a big move to make within 3 months, especially since I plan on driving! I've considered calling just to curb my curiosity but I don't want to be "that guy" who bugs them. lol
I'm super hopeful but at the same time, I think they only admit 64 students so I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high. They liked me enough to interview, but my college GPA from my teen years is dragging me down - I had a "C's get degrees" mentality, which I didn't realize would hurt me later. I hope they take my most recent GPA into consideration, when I finally wised up!
I know! Each day I've been holding my phone and taking it wherever I have been going.. Ugh next week will be 12 weeks since my interview so I'm starting to worry now. I know I shouldn't have, but I put all my cards into Rochester and I hope I didn't miss my chance becaus do couldn't pull things together for May.. But so far I haven't heard of anyone getting a phone call or getting anything in the mail.

My interview for ABPNN was more of a "this is what you're going to be doing in your clinicals", "these are housing options", and things like the structure of the program and how it works. I wasn't really asked any questions about myself, I was told "what I'll be doing".
I don't know if that's a good sign or a bad sign, it sounds like everyone else's interviews were like a classic sort of interview.
