Thought I'd start a thread for those applying to the U of R ABPNN/AMPNN programs for the May 2014 start. I went to undergrad nearby and had a wonderful experience volunteering at Strong and U of R is my first choice school for sure. I'm hoping to get accepted to the psychiatric speciality of the AMPNN program. Who else is applying?

ugh I'm just trying to find a reason why I haven't been called yet haha. But I had an MSN interview which I thought couldn't happen without a BSN acceptance....?

Kris that is true! As soon as I got my MSN interview I called and asked if that meant I was accepted to the BSN and they said yes it does so I knew I was accepted awhile ago. They said they will be making calls all week and packages should come in next week

Yeah I am. I was accepted to a school much cheaper but U of R ended up offering a scholarship that made it kind of acceptable haha. Rochester is where I want to live.

Okay, I was worried for nothing, I got a call this morning! Gotta see everything but in writing but I plan on attending, very excited!

hi all! I got a call this morning and I found out I was accepted into the BSN/MSN program for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialty. I'm thrilled! I live in Seattle, so it's definitely far to move. But I am seriously considering it. Keeping my fingers crossed for you all!

Congrats to those of you guys who got into the MSN program! I am jealous. Did you guys all have an extensive nursing/bedside experience for your chosen specialty? I really wanted to apply for the FNP but the Rochester's Q&A made it sound like I need a lot of experiences in that field since I'm competing with other students who are already nurses. I would really appreciate any input!

Hi all!!! I was also accepted to the ABPNN!!!!! =) I cannot contain my excitement!!!!! I wanted to apply to the combined for the MSN, but I was too nervous about my GPA, so I just applied for the BSN =) Still waiting to hear from some other schools (both combined and just BSN) but Rochester is a really great school =)

I go to U of R for undergrad right now and if anyone has any questions about the area or anything, don't hesitate to ask!!

do you have any advice on finding housing? Is rocrooms.com good?

I've heard good things about roc rooms and i know a few people who have used http://www.rochester.edu/reslife/offcampus/# as well
