University of Pittsburgh's CRNA program...

Published

Hey you all.

Glad to be joining the chats. I have been reading some really great stuff about being an SRNA and the rigors of the programs. I was wondering if anyone has attended, is currently attending, or has been accepted the the University of Pittsburgh's CRNA program. I'll be starting there this coming year (2009), and was looking for any insight on the program. I have done lots of exhausting research on it, so I got many of the basics. I'm interested in subjective feedback about it. But, any input would be appreciated.

Thanks friends.

I went through the interview process a little over a year ago and was wait listed as well.

The process is extensive and thorough with time for you to get to know the program through its faculty and current students as well. You will already be prepared clinically for the questions on the interviews, so don't stress about that. Try to really find out if the program will be a good fit for you.

It is a great education and the faculty is supportive. They want everyone to succeed. Pitt grads have excellent reputation in the marketplace.

Feel free to email as well with questions.

Specializes in ICU.

what if any clinical questions were you guys asked during the interview?

Specializes in MICU.

I got accepted into Pitt to start this August (2009). Anyone else starting then?

Specializes in BICU,PICU,Rural ICU,Float ICU,IV Therapy.

When was you interview? I interviewed in March and still haven't heard anything.

Anyone on here applying for 2010 admission in Pitt? I know I met at least on Pitt hopeful at my Hamot interview...

Specializes in Med Surg/MICU/Pediatrics/PCICU.

I'm still in nursing school (well still trying to get in) but can those of you who had interviews at Pitt and those who got in tell me what your gpa was when you applied. I'm interested in the Pitt program but haven't had the chance to ask anyone what their gpa was when they applied. I would like to set a goal for myself so I can plan out what schools to eventually apply for.

I applied to start Fall 2010 at Pitt, still waiting to hear a decision. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hi Hopeful17, Pitt had a run of interviews on dec and are waiting to do more interviews on march(2010) before making a final decisions on admissions/new classes (are interviewing for both fall2010 and spring2011). I guess we are on a waiting season right now till the holidays are over. All the best.

Good luck to you both!

Hi Demwa. Thank you for the reply. Good luck to you! Let me know if you hear any updates. I'm actually thinking of giving them a call today just to figure out their timeline. I will keep you posted as well. So jw, do you think there are still spots left in the class to start Fall 2010??? or if we didn't hear anything by now, does that mean we'll just be pushed back to be considered for spring? thanks again!
