University of Pittsburgh CRNA Spring 2022

Published

Hello everyone,

I figured since there isn’t a thread yet for the Spring 2022 cohort for Pittsburgh that I would make one!  I just need to take my GRE and I’ll submit my application in a couple of days.   Excited to go through this with all of you!

Best,

Paul Gonzales BSN, RN, CCRN

Specializes in ICU, CCRN.

To those who haven’t heard about interview, I emailed today to find out if they were still in the process of doing so. This is what (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) stated... “There are still some interviews to happen and they will reach out to you if they are going to schedule you. You will hear something from the program by June 30 at the latest.”

Hope this helps!

It’s on June 17th! She said they were going over the last group of applicants so hopefully y’all will get a call soon, as well!

Has anyone heard yet from the last 2 interview sessions?

I think the last set of interviews is tomorrow.  Since they are rolling admissions they are probably waiting to see the last few people for making final decisions!  So hopefully hear back within the next few weeks.

Hi! I was admitted to the Spring 2022 cohort and I was wondering if any current students would be able to let me know what textbooks are required for the first semester. I’m about to have a ton of free time on my hands and was hoping I might be able to get a head start on some reading, haha. I tried searching through the bookstore based on course numbers but got nowhere. If anyone knows about the required/recommended textbooks I’d love to hear from you!

You honestly don't need to buy any books for the first semester, most (if not all) of them are on HSLS or you can find a pdf somewhere on the internet, which is what my class did. If you want to check out some anesthesia books to start reading ahead (even though this won't help much for your first semester), you can check out Pardo & Miller's Basics of Anesthesia. That's a great place to start reading on some essential concepts

Hi, did anyone interview on June 17th? If yes, any update? I interviewed and very anxious, patiently waiting to hear back.

I interviewed the 17th, but haven’t heard anything. I’m guessing it will be late this week or obviously next week.

Still waiting to hear from the May interviews.
