Yes, UoP is very pricey. I did look at Grand Canyon, Walden, Chamberlain, and a few others. All are expensive in my opinion. Mostly because they are either for-profits or private. Also, I think programs that do not require a GRE and more expensive. UoP is about 1 to 2 times more expensive depending on where you look. I hear UoP program is excellent for the working adult. I work full time as a Behavioral Health Nurse, and I'm mother to a tenacious 16 year old. I know of one person, that completed the masters from UoP. She is not a nurse, but she did speak highly of their program and did recommend UoP.
UoP tends totol be very expensive. May I ask why there compared to other online alternatives?
OP: let me say this about the Universly of Phoenix. Years ago this was an OK school but just OK. And many nurses have obtained degrees from it. But that was a long time ago and the positive recommendations they may have given you no longer apply.
They like most other for-profit schools have subsumed the education motive to the profit motive and as such have left legions of nursing students by the the wayside. This notion is partially supported by the fact that most if not all for-profits spend much more money on advertising and trolling the net with obnoxious ads than on students. To them it's merely a business and about enrollment numbrers. Just like South University.
They would enroll a stump if it had a GED and negative felony record. This is not hyperbolie as they are all about "achieving their numbers."
Please find another reputable school. An internet search on these ne'er do wells will tell the tale. Just go to a reptutable school not one that like South University is the biggest scam joke in nursing education.
Good luck. P.S don't fall for the recruiter's soft-soft they are trained call center salespersons and know how to play on your aspirations to endlessly dip into your loan money with ruinous results. Again go to a reputable school. Not the easiest one to get into.
These days, too easy is too sleazy. Be careful.

The few who do graduate from this mess will always tell you how great it was or all schools are the same. But they are protecting their ego and poor choice. What should you expect them to say: " 90% of my cohort class didn't graduate, I paid too much money and am now $100, 000 in debt." UoPs miserably low graduation and retention rates to a large extent tell the tale. It's a numbers game with them and you are the number.
If I could recommend them, I would but their days of being on-the-level are long past.
