University of Phoenix RN-BSN-MSN

Published

Seriously considering the UOP online program. Anyone out there that has completed or is currently enroled in this program? I'm concerned about the cost and also will my degree be acknowledged in the state of Georgia?

Also, anyone who got their RN-BSN and went on for their MSN thru University of Phoenix, what was the approximate cost?

I do know of nurses in GA who went through UofP online. I know it is expensive, but on the bright side...no clinicals. They consider your nursing experience as clinical time. Check out the distance learning forum here on allnurses. There is a thread on the UofP there somewhere. We have several members that post there but never in the GA forum. Good luck with everything.

Hi...

I completed my BSN online with the UoP. It is a great program. I have enjoyed very much. I have learned a lot from it. It worked well with my schedule. I went to class on my own time. You will have a lot paper to write every week. I have meet many nurses from all over with different experiences and background. The state of GA acknowledges the degree. I am starting CRNA school in Jan 09. I had no problems applying as well. I would say to go for it. It is expensive, but I worked at Emory and they pay 80% of my tuition for up to 18 credits/calendar year. That is a great deal. Good luck. It is worth to get educated.

what a dito......

you took the same path I plan to

I just got accepted to gordon for spring 09

I would rather go to emory. I applied and find out if accepted there in feburary

I also work for emory in the A building derm

I was thinking of becoming a CRNA

and I wanted to get a BSN thru Univ of Phoenix

If you dont mind me askin how much did their program cost you after the emory discount?? what program offers the CRNA? any advice for an upcoming RN?

If you plan on going that path, it is a good time to start. You can get your associate, work in an ICU while you are finishing your bachelor, then apply to CRNA school. It is very competitive. You need to have ICU experience, GPA 3.0 or greater, GRE, great references, then you will have to go for an interview. They only have 2 schools in GA that offer the CRNA program, MCG in Augusta, and Mercer in Macon. I am going to school in FL. Any questions just let me know. My UoP program cost me a good $15,000 I think.
