Hello everyone! This thread is for folks applying to UPenn's Accelerated BSN-MSN program for the 2023 start.
Feel free to introduce yourself, ask questions and offer guidance and support to other candidates. Please be respectful and kind and remember that this is a long, exhausting, expensive, stressful journey for lots of people. Let's do our best to uplift and help each other. Good luck!

I didn't ever get an email though. Just a flag on my portal that said an update had been made.
I'm so glad you posted — I was waiting for an email! Just checked and I got in for the BSN and PMHNP MSN programs. So exciting! Congratulations to everyone! ?

You're probably right! I must be misremembering something I read, because I just hunted around for information (in my notes from various info sessions and online) about the scholarship and can't find any reference to the amount.
Hi, everyone! I was also accepted to the ABSN and MSN (for PMHNP). Congrats, and happy to meet y'all! I got an email two days ago saying to check the portal, but the update took several HOURS to load. So they really kept me waiting on the edge of my seat!
I'm curious about the financial aid package as well. I did not apply to the Amy Gutmann scholarship because I assumed it was so selective I would not get it (poor decision on my part). According to the financial aid site, it looks like there are need based and merit based scholarships as well, so I wonder about that . . .

I didn't see that you had to apply for financial aid before knowing if you were accepted or not. None of the other schools I applied to were like that. So I didn't fill out any forms except for FAFSA. abut Im not worried because I would like to think most of those deadlines are arbitrary anyways. I'd send an email to the fin aid office and see what you can do.

Thanks so much! Yeah, I've emailed financial aid, so we'll see what they say. (The website is also unclear because it seems it is based on last year's applications.)
Hi, I was accepted to the ABSN portion of the program and really did not expect to so I'm in an unplanned pickle. I still have several prerequisites to do and was wondering if they are pretty serious about having them done by June. In that case I'd have to quit my job right now and enroll in the rest of them to have them done by June. Does anyone have any suggestions or know if that's a hard deadline?

I may also be in a similar pickle. I'm planning to talk with advising this week to get a better understanding of the deadline and whether some of my credits could fulfill the prereqs.
I have heard many good things about Johns Hopkins' online prereqs for health professions. If this is an accessible option for you:

I'm pretty certain Penn accepts these courses, but again, maybe check with advising?
