University of Oklahoma-Accelerated BSN Program

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Hi All,

I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think?

I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this school offers. I'm 3 prerequisites away from applying to the school, with a start date of August 08. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know when we should be hearing from OU?

They told me that they mail our decisions and that it can be up to 8 weeks after June 1! they cut it sooooo close! how are we supposed to get everything in order before classes start????

Hello Everybody!

I'm also an applicant for Fall '09 in Glendale. However, my US Govt is not going to be completed until end of July and my Toefl score will not be posted until June 26th. Are there other applicants who have "in-progress" classes like me?

Does anyone know if I'm even going to be considered for the Fall? Yikes ..

you will probably be considered....from what I've heard

From what I've been reading ...they usually start answering mid july ...but this time there are so many applicants ...who knows

do you know how many available spots they have for SD???

I spoke with my counselor this morning and she said that they might have the committee meeting on June 25th (that's next week) .. and hopefully, they will be sending out emails 3-4 weeks before Fall classes start?

they take soooo long to decide :(

thank you so much..you are always so helpful

I was asking about the blackberry because someone said to make sure a phone is allowed to be used on the floor (this if i decide not to get a PDA instead)

do you have any idea what payment plans they have? monthly etc ??? how much?

sorry I am asking so many questions

thank you

My understanding is that you can pay as much or as little as you want up to a certain date and then the full amount at that time is due, or whatever the balance is remaining on your account. Like if you feel like paying $20 one month, then $2K the next, so be it.

I always carried my phone around, I didn't use it, just had it in case of emergencies b/c of my son. Otherwise, they didn't have an issue, just don't use your camera. :) And my understanding is, that you can't/shouldn't have your phone on any psych floor. Privacy issues. Other than that, no biggie.

I've only heard good things about this program for those that meet the requirements. If I had had a previous degree I would have gone for it of Nationals program.

Hi guys, I hope you can help me. I am just looking into the U of OK ABSN program right now and had some questions that I e-mailed to the dept a week ago and still haven't gotten a response, so maybe you can enlighten me.

My main question is when do you have to actually be on-site and how often? My understanding of the program is that it is a distance program, but do they call it that simply because there are so many satellite locations? I'm so confused. I live in Kansas and there is no way I can travel that distance, it may not seem far, but as a single mom with a 3 year old, it's quite a trek. My second question is if you have to have a previous bachelor's degree. Somewhere on the website I got that impression. I don't remember where.

Thanks in advance for the help!! :bowingpur

The majority of the people on this thread are in california. If I'm not mistaken... I think there is an acutal OK version of this thread somewhere. Sorry, can't help with the Kansas to OK campus questions.

I spoke with someone earlier today and she is hoping the committee will meet on July 2nd. She will then immediately input their decisions and letters will go out about a week later (hopefully around July 10th). She also said there were 71 or 72 Glendale applicants for around 24 spots.

anyone has a list of the required vaccinations please????

thank you
