Hello everyone! This will be my 3rd attempt to apply in USFCA VANAP here in Sacramento! On my first try, I was still taking one of my major science classes, Ethics and Philosophy. The second one, I realized that my essays were horrible. I'm coming back with complete prerequisites and I hope my essays are better this time.
My GPA is not as competitive which is 3.2
However, I have a long experience in bedside care as I have been a CNA for more than 7 years and is now working at a University hospital taking care of Psych Patients for 3 years already.
I have no volunteer experience, but I am an active member of an organization that does medical missions in remote areas in the Philippines.
I'm looking forward to converse and share the anxiety (lol) with the rest of aspiring nursing students of this prestigious school!

Pretty much. This is what mine said:
After careful review of your application and supporting materials, our Admission Committee is unable to offer you admission to the university. This is always a difficult decision as the number of qualified applicants far exceeds the number of spaces in this year's class.
I got in for Spring 2021! To sum it up the email is just I was overqualified and therefore I have guaranteed seat for Spring 2021. I took all of my prerequisite, maybe that’s why.
I didn’t comment here before but was following the discussion.
My Stats:
3:67 overall
3.8 core classes
fluent in 4 language
CNA for 7 months
Volunteered 103 hours
Dean’s List for 4 semesters
My essay was pretty strong but I submitted the draft one accidentally where it had grammar mistakes. I noticed it after submitting. So I thought I didn’t have chance of getting in.

Great job on getting in. Did you submit your SAT scores or any test scores into application? Was it your first time applying ?
because your grades and experiences and volunteer hours are almost similar to mines. I worked in medical field for more than 4 years. I’m wondering what are they looking for at application. My essays were really strong too, I got help from a professional English Professor/tutor

CONGRATS! How did they accept you already for Spring 2021? I though they are only accepting for fall 2020

I'm sorry, but how are you getting in for Spring 2021 when they don't take applications until Fall? Not to mention, I have NEVER heard of a nursing program saying you are overqualified unless you are literally already a RN (including masters programs that only take 4.0). Your stats are basically on par, if not below the majority of people applying. There are plenty of people who have way more experience and a much higher GPA that still aren't called "overqualified".

No, I am transferring from. So no SAT and also didn’t submit the TEAS. First time applying. Did you hear anything back?

Yes, it is true. They are accepting application for fall 2020. However, when if they think you are good candidate they offer guaranteed spot for Spring 2021.

Me too! I think there are only one or two other people here on this forum who applied. Hopefully, they got in at least.
Did you apply elsewhere?
