University of North Georgia (UNG) - FNP Program

Published

Hello! I applied back in 2020 to the full time FNP program at UNG and got accepted. Due to work/life at the time I decided not to pursue the acceptance. I have finally decided to look into going back to FNP school and have questions about the full and part-time program.

If you are a current or former student for either the full or part-time program could you please share your experience? I have had a hard time finding anything new for this program specifically.

I am just wondering about the work/life balance with each program, if you felt that the program structure was good (support, staff availability for questions, etc.), and more specifically about the "Tuesday" or "Thursday" meeting day. Is this in person or online? How many times a semester do you meet?

Thank you for any and all replies 🙂

im starting this Summer for the part time (3 year program). looks like the whole first year with this option is online. but full time requires going to campus multiple times with health assessment but not too sure as I won't be officially starting until next month.

@nancymane I know it is a lot to ask, but if you happen to have time once you get started would you mind coming back and letting me know what you think and how it seems to go with work/life balance? 😊

Yeah I can definitely do that. I actually went online looking for info myself, so if I can share anything helpful I will. If you don't hear from me in the next year, replay back to this and I'll answer any questions

I am interested as well. I was looking to attend an info session, but I don't ever see any listed for the FNP program. I plan on applying for the part time program, but have so many questions! May I ask how long you've been a RN?

Hey Nancy! I had an interview last Thursday and have been accepted to start the program in the Summer of 2026! Just reaching out to see how it has been for you so far?

That would be great!! I have been trying to find any information I can on the program itself but I have not been able to find much outside of some discussions from a few years ago!

I did ask in my interview about the requirements and she said that the first 3 semesters are completely online and we are not required to come to the campus during those semesters! She said once we start Advanced Health Assessment and clinical courses we usually meet a few times a semester on campus! I also asked about the exams and she said they are online and open for a 48 hour period of time!

I currently work full time Monday-Friday in Public Health so I had asked about that with the course schedule! I am going part time! Are you going part time or full time?

Okay great! That's awesome! Well maybe we will find a few more people over the next few weeks/months on here! At the time of my interview she has said there had been 9 other students accepted so I guess we will see! I'm sure they had more interviews lined up as well! I do have Facebook and Instagram if you're on either of those! I think I am findable on there! I don't really get in social media much but we could connect on there if you want! My name is Jesse Cook!
