University of North Georgia - Fall 2017 Cohort

Published

Good morning all!

I searched to see if anyone had already started a topic on applicants for the UNG Fall 2017 cohort since applications just opened at the beginning of the month, but didn't find one. Please feel free to move this if I missed it!

With that being said, how many of you have applied for the program already? I just wanted to have a place where we could all chat and share our anxieties while waiting on acceptance (hopefully!) letters!

I'm Heather. I just transferred to UNG so my first semester will be this coming Fall. I have about 6 more classes to take before the program starts and am currently studying to take the HESI next month. I have 2 children, 12 year old boy and 2 year old girl, and work in the service industry. Tell me about yourselves!

Also, for what it's worth, when I was at orientation the nursing advisors said averages for those accepted last semester were 3.6 GPA and 87% on the HESI. Obviously, those numbers vary greatly depending on the applicant pool, but it does help give some idea about what we should expect.

Good luck, everyone!

Oh wow, mid Feb? That's closer than I thought... I'm so nervous!

I know! Seems so close. Except to my anxiety, which makes it feel like ages.

Where are you going currently?

GA State right now! I'm retaking my HESI on the 14 since my GPA is a little low. I'm trying not to get too hopeful for the Fall but you never know! I spoke to a pre-nursing advisor at UNG and she said that even just a few points more on the HESI could make a big difference. Also you have an amazing score, congrats! I'm hoping I can do a little better on Anatomy since I've taken Anatomy I now, and that was my lowest score (80, everything else was well into the 90's)

I know it is only January, but any updates from anyone?

The only email I've gotten from the nursing department was a reminder for HESI testing due date. I was told they were going to do an information session bit haven't heard anything else.

I went to an info session early December. Otherwise, nothing

What all did they cover? I didn't know they already did one.

Do you know how many they put on the waiting list? I had way below a 26 (as shown above) and got put on the waiting list.

I'm not sure, but I got my info from Caroline Samples, a pre-nursing advisor. She's really sweet and might be able to tell you!

Hey you guys! Last semester was super hectic, but now that it's over I have updated stats. My overall GPA is now a 3.92 and I ended up getting a 92 on the HESI. For those of you that don't attend UNG, did you guys send your updated transcript to UNG? My score based on @foodnetwerk's info won't really change based on my new GPA, I just didn't know if it was necessary to keep them UNG updated on our progress.

Oh, that's a good q. I'm not sure, but I'll probably send a transcript their way just in case.
