University of North Georgia - Fall 2017 Cohort

Published

Good morning all!

I searched to see if anyone had already started a topic on applicants for the UNG Fall 2017 cohort since applications just opened at the beginning of the month, but didn't find one. Please feel free to move this if I missed it!

With that being said, how many of you have applied for the program already? I just wanted to have a place where we could all chat and share our anxieties while waiting on acceptance (hopefully!) letters!

I'm Heather. I just transferred to UNG so my first semester will be this coming Fall. I have about 6 more classes to take before the program starts and am currently studying to take the HESI next month. I have 2 children, 12 year old boy and 2 year old girl, and work in the service industry. Tell me about yourselves!

Also, for what it's worth, when I was at orientation the nursing advisors said averages for those accepted last semester were 3.6 GPA and 87% on the HESI. Obviously, those numbers vary greatly depending on the applicant pool, but it does help give some idea about what we should expect.

Good luck, everyone!

Do you guys know anyone that has previously graduated from the nursing program that could speak to its rigor? I want to work while in school and I just want to know if anyone has done it and could possibly give advice!

I'm contemplating how many hours to take on as well (I'm a CNA in a nursing home currently)

Also, I see that NURS 2603 is required before starting the program in the fall. Do you guys know how transfer students are supposed to go about signing up for that class? When applying for the school, I applied for Fall 2017 admission, not Summer 2017 so I don't know if I'm eligible to sign up for the class. Are we supposed to apply for summer admission as well? I'll call the school and ask, but any insight from someone that knows would be appreciated!

For all I know, we were suppose to apply for summer 17. Just call and ask too.

Yeah, I'm a transfer student and I applied for the summer, but they said that they can move your acceptance forward a semester, so maybe they can move it back a semester too?

The lady was able to move my admission to summer 2017 so that I can take the summer class! Do you guys know if they offer the NURS 2603 course online so that I can take it at home? I don't reside in or near Gainesville and if I accept my acceptance I'd be moving to the area in August.

I think it's exclusively online

Now that my admission was moved I was able to see that it is online! Have you guys been to the Gainesville campus? Is it big? I'm doing a tour there next week to see it!

I went on a weekends so it was very deserted haha but its nice! Plus their nursing practice lab is brand new

Does anybody know the chances of a waitlisted into getting into the program for Fall?

Gainesville or dahlonega
