University of Minnesota - 2021 DNP Applicants

Published

Hello, I haven’t found a thread for the University of Minnesota 2021 DNP applicants so I thought one! Hopefully a place where we can post updates on the application process!

Good luck to everyone :)

Hey all. Wondering if anyone had heard anything at all, specifically for the adult/gero track? I feel like it’s getting pretty late and others in different tracks have already gotten accepted into their programs. Getting nervous ? and tired of checking my email a million times a day LOL

Hey everyone! Has anyone heard anything about the FNP track. I haven’t seen anything. Any idea of what the heck is going on would be appreciated!

Hello!  I emailed admissions a couple of weeks back and asked if they were still in the process of reviewing applications, and whether or not applicants would be notified if they were no longer being considered.  At that time I was told that they were in fact still going through the process, and that applications were still under review.  I was told that all future contacts would be made through email, however I didn't get a firm sense of whether or not those no longer being considered would be notified, or just left hanging.  I've got to be honest, I'm not impressed with their overall process.  I feel that we've worked hard to get ourselves to a spot where we are ready to take on the challenge of a doctoral program, have put a lot of time and effort into our applications, and the lack of response to many just feels very disrespectful.  At this point I'd just rather be told "thanks, but not thanks" than to be left with no idea what is going on.  I don't feel that is asking too much.  I've heard from folks who have applied to other programs that the application process and interview timeline was laid out and understood.  I'm more than a little frustrated at this point.

I agree and am too very frustrated with this entire process. I understand with Covid the interview process looks a bit different than previous years and understand there needs to be some flexibility but I feel like this is kind of ridiculous. I also know several people applying to other programs and at this point they have all received either acceptance, waitlist, or rejections emails. I wonder what the hold up is all about..

Thanks for the update.  I am definitely frustrated as well. I email admissions with the same question and never received an email back. Good luck to everyone! Hoping we will all get some clarity sometime soon!

Still have not heard anything on my end. Anyone have any good news to share? This is getting ridiculous.

I interviewed for FNP over a month ago and understood at that time that we were looking at early March for possible decisions, though acceptances and interviews are rolling so it can vary for each person. That's all I know! I feel like I'm in the same boat as many of you - trying to tame my anxiousness and be hopeful.

X Crossing my fingers for updates sooner than later for all of us!

Nothing on my end either

I sent a second email today to see if I can get some answers. I emailed in January and did not receive a reply. I'll post here if they respond.

Hello all,

I applied to the fall 2021 midwifery track back in October and I have yet to have heard anything back since my email stating my application was received by the priority date and under review. I emailed one of the admissions rep last Wednesday and have yet to have heard back. I saw on their school of nursing facebook page that the DNP application date was extended to Feb 19; maybe they're waiting to see all the applicants? IDK but the wait sucks ? wishing the best of luck to all of you!

I don’t if users all still active on this posting, but have some of you still not received an acceptance or even rejection yet?

I received an email stating my rejection at the end of February. I do know that they did accept people into May last year. Keep your hopes up!
