University of Michigan-Flint BSN-DNP

Has anyone had previous experience or current experiencing applying to the University of Michigan-Flint BSN-DNP Program? I am wondering what they look for in applicants and what my chances are of admittance. Thank you!

I have applied for the BSN-to-DNP program (ACNP) at UM-Flint as well. You have to meet the GPA and pre-req requirements. Your reasons for becoming an NP on the career goals essay is also weighed heavily. I have quite a few co-workers who are in the MSN NP program and each of them was accepted readily. One of them only had 2 years' experience as a floor nurse, but she had a stellar GPA.

Good luck :)

That is the same track I applied for :) Yes I have about a 3.9 GPA. I graduated in May so I will have about a year of experience prior to fall admittance. What is your background? Are you from Michigan? Thanks good luck to you as well :)

I earned my ADN in 2015, started on neuro step-down then transferred to respiratory critical care. Did that for a little over a year, then transferred to ICU. By the time I start the program, I'll have a little over 2 years as an RN and 1 year in ICU. I had a 3.86 GPA with my ADN and a 4.0 with my BSN. Yes, I'm in MI, so that helps with finding UM-Flint clinicals.

Good luck! Maybe we might be classmates :)

Have you heard back?
