University of Michigan DNP 2021

Hi Everyone!

I could not find a post for the 2021 DNP applicants at University of Michigan, so I wanted to make one. I applied for the DNP Midwifery program, and I have submitted my KIRA interview. I am hoping to hear back soon about an in person interview, if selected. 

I wanted to know what specialties everyone is applying to, and what they have heard thus far regarding their admissions? We can all be nervous here, together. 

Also, if anyone has attended their CNM program, do you have any tips or advice?

I am applying to the Pediatric NP Program.. I will keep you updated I am planning on doing my Kira this weekend. How did it go? I'm so nervous to start it

Yay, thats so exciting! Congrats ?

The KIRA wasn't bad. Just make sure you do practice questions and get yourself used to the program. It is super helpful! 

I did feel like I got nervous and stumbled a bit- but as long as you are being honest and being yourself, there really aren't any wrong answers. 

Just be prepared with your answer to why umich, why this program. I also had questions about teamwork, nursing research, and time management.

I also applied to the Midwifery program and I completed my KIRA interview two weeks ago. I am hopeful that they will start sending out admissions by the beginning to middle of February, but am feeling super nervous about hearing back. 

Did you apply for the post-masters or the post-bacc DNP program?

I am also hopeful to hear sooner rather than later. Have you heard anything about live interviews?

I applied for the post-bacc as well! I have not heard anything about live interviews, but I was under the impression (from the website and from a virtual open house) that live interviews were not always done for consideration into the program and that some acceptances are based off the application package (including KIRA interview) only.

Yeah, that’s what it sounds like. I just wanted to know if some people had heard anything else already or not LOL. But it’s so nerve wracking to just do KIRA and then wait.

Hello everyone. I applied to the CNM/PCPNP program. I did my Kira interview, and has been freaking out since. I think its the waiting. BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE ?

Yeah, the waiting game is super intimidating, I have also been freaking out for sure!! Hopefully we find out sooner rather than later.
