Hello! I got accepted into UM's absn program today! I have never been to Miami and want to plan a trip tp fly to Florida (from California) to see the University. Does anyone know if the absn program has any type of tours going on? Would appreciate any tips, thanks in advance! ?

The tour of the simulation hospital for the school of nursing is every Monday and Friday at 1:30. If you want to tour the entire school (which I’ve already been warned by Ms. Castro that we won’t have might time to enjoy lol) then you can search for that info on the website.

Does anyone know when the next round of acceptances will be released? Should I still be expecting something next week, or is there just one final round following the August 1 deadline?

Also for anyone not accepted still, have you received any updates on your application at all? Worried that something is holding up my application, but the office said they will be in touch if anything comes up. (I applied 6/17)

@csrnurse what are your stats? And do you have any classes pending if so how many? I think they look at that too. As for if they’re done someone mentioned they accept 100 students for the spring and on top of that there deadline is still almost a month away. I don’t think they are done accepting students yet. Just keep in touch with them.

@Mr.lucky1 I have a 3.8 overall GPA and 3.7 from my undergrad, healthcare experience and a CNA license. I do have 2 prereqs pending, but they said that would not affect my acceptance. Guess I will keep waiting ?

@csrnurse I think you’re going to be just fine. I wouldn’t sweat it. You’re stats are great and they allow you to have 3 courses pending.

Well I got the first hold the day before my graduation so I did not pay any attention to that but I received on the second one in which I had contacted Ms. Castro in regards to it. All she said was I am a strong candidate and that was it when I spoke with her...other than that nothing.

I had the same thing so I would inquire about it asap and see what is up with it.
