Hi ALL,

I wanted to start this thread for all those who applied and are interested in applying for UM's accelerated BSN next spring (Jan 2013)!!

Has any one applied or been accepted yet?

Hey,

I wanted to ask the same thing. I just found out about that scholarship yesterday when I received my certificate of admission letter. I thought it was weird that I didn't know about it sooner because I had been looking up scholarships on the SONHS website about a month ago. Regardless, I filled out the application and turned it in in person today because it was such short notice. Did you turn in any other documents along with the application?

No I didn't turned anything else. Did they tell you that you need to turn anything else with the application?

Since the scholarship was based on academic achievement and financial need I was told that I should have provided some kind of proof of that( like fafsa or something) . I did what I could before the end of the day :( I was just confused about why the application said nothing about that, but oh well.

I don't think it was required to turn in extra documents to apply for the scholarship, but I guess it looked better to do so

Hello and congrats to those of you who are accepted!! I'm applying to the May 2013 cohort and was wondering if you guys would be willing to share your stats- GPA, prereq GPA, whether you had prereq's in progress, how many years out of undergrad..etc

Also am wondering, for those of you who took community college classes to finish up prereqs, did you use an official at the community college for the college official form that you have to submit?

Thanks for your help and hopefully I'll be seeing some of you in the summer!

My overall GPA was a 3.5 and my prereq was a 3.8. I did have two prereq's in progress (Nutrition and Human Growth Development), which I took online from a community college. I did not have a college official form filled out by them though. I asked the dean of the university I graduated from to fill out mine. I graduated on May 2012 and applied approximately 3 months out of undergrad. Hope this helps! Good luck with your application!

Thanks for the info! My stats are similar to yours so hopefully that's a good sign for me!

I am also wondering if you recall how long it took you to get a response after submitting your application, and whether you found out on the myUM website, or through email, or regular mail...etc Best of luck to you in the ABSN program!

Hello everyone,

I am planning for jan 2014, I have human nutrition class in progress and I am graduating with my undergraduate in Dec 2013. I have been working as LVN from last four years and I am working on my undergraduate degree in Health Administration but my science GPA is not that great. I was wondering what are my chances to get in. How are the classes like, and since I will have m bachelors, will fafsa cover my financial aid. I would really appreciate if I can help me these questions
