University of Miami Accelerated BSN spring 2018

Hey all, I've been waiting to see a UM ABSN 2018 thread pop up but figured I might as well start one. I submitted my application on March 17 and still waiting for NursingCAS to verify my transcripts. From what I've gathered through past threads, its a rolling admission so I'm hoping to hear back in the next few months! Curious if there's anybody else out there who has applied or planning on applying!

Hello! I was admitted for Summer 2017 but because I applied so late I missed out on scholarship opportunities, plus it wasn't enough time to figure out finances and housing arrangements etc. I am applying again for Spring 2018 in hopes to be admitted again and have myself much more organized this time. Just so you know NursingCas is a very slow process so give it some time, but all of my stuff went through pretty quickly, some people it took FOREVER.

I've seen in past threads how slow NursingCAS is with verifying documents. They received my second transcript this morning and almost instantly sent me an email that everything was verified, so everything is going quick! I'm super excited

Aww yay! That is so exciting! Well I wish you the best of luck. I cried when I got accepted and then was extremely bummed out that things were just not working in my favor. Hopefully this time around!

Thanks! I'm sure I'm going to cry too lmao. I already received my CaneLink. I guess I'm just waiting on my recommendation to be received.

Were you not able to defer your acceptance to a later date? And would you mind sharing your stats, like GPA? I haven't been able to lock down what they're accepting. I don't have any clinical experience, so I hope that doesn't reflect poorly

I hope so too, I'm pretty anxious/excited. I've been reading past threads, and it seems like they start letting people know a few weeks before the application deadline, but who knows. Are you from the Miami area? I'm trying to pick someone's brain about what the area is like

Yes, I live in Miami. You're going to love it. Miami is a lot of fun and UM is beautiful!

Coral Gables is expensive so I would try to look for a place to live as soon as you get accepted.
