university of Miami ABSN Summer 2017

Hello,

The application cycle for University of Miami ABSN for Summer 2017 just opened today. Wondering if anyone is applying! I will be sending my application in a few weeks. Deadline is March 1st. But its rolling admission so the earlier you apply the earlier you hear back! Good luck to everyone. Also if someone is currently a student in the ABSN program, please share your thoughts about the program to help the rest of us who are applying :)

I live a little over an hour from the campus in the West Palm Beach area.

I'm not sure yet. Miami traffic can be pretty horrific so I'm going to drive down there and see what the commute and area are actually like. And it also depends on what the class and clinical schedule looks like (if there are long breaks during the day). What about your living situation? Are you applying to any other programs?

Yeah that makes sense! And I haven't applied to any other programs yet. I know I should but I really don't want to go anywhere else. And if I get accepted I might get an apartment if my brother can stay with me for a bit. If not I'll probably live on campus. I've never even been to Miami so it'll be a hard decision to make. I'll really have to look into it. What about you? Did you apply anywhere else?

I haven't applied anywhere else yet. There are a few other accelerated programs in FL that start in May but they're all 3+ hours away, so then I would definitely have to move.

What is your first degree in? Mine is psychology. I wonder if they prefer applicants with science degrees like biology?

Oh yeah you could probably save a lot of money if you didn't have to move! And mine is psychology also. I'm not sure if they prefer students with science degrees. :/ hopefully psychology is good though because then you can show you're well rounded. Psychology also relates to almost any career you go into when you're working with people.

I just submitted my application! I called the University of Miami, and they said that the first group of students has already been accepted. She said if I submitted my application now I should know by the end of September!! ahh I hate waiting, but that's not too long of a wait!

Wow that really is quick!! Now I'm feeling super rushed to finish up, but I'm waiting to finish a class next week for the transcripts. Are you transcripts verified? NursingCAS received one of mine several weeks ago and it's still being processed.

You still have plenty of time! And yes my transcripts are already verified! NursingCAS doesn't say my application is complete yet though, and I think it's because my reference has submitted yet. She said she'll get it in next week though!

I just got my canelink this morning!! The e-mail said that my application is currently under review. So I'm hoping I'll know by the end of this week! Have your transcripts been verified yet??
