University of Maryland Traditional BSN Fall Program: Any idea when we will hear back?

I was wondering if there was anyone out there that applied last fall that could tell us when they learned the fate of their application? I was just wondering how long we (Fall 2009 applicants) would have to wait until we hear back from the admissions office. Thanks and good luck to everyone else!

i know right..are you emailing your registration form or u doing it the other way via mail or fax?

Emailing prob. I like doing everything electronically if i can.

i never realized that it might be UMB that lost my transcript during the application process.. I always blamed it on my previous school. I ended up having to drive all the way to baltimore to turn in my transcript the day before the application was due cause i knew i wouldn't have enough time to send it in (i found out at the last minute that they didn't have it).

I think that if you want to mail things in early it shouldn't be a problem.. just call in and check with them later on the status of your application, as in what they have recieved and what else they're missing. Your professors most likely will keep a copy of your recommendation, but it's always nice to let them know that you would like them to keep the recommendation on file just in case it may come in use in the future (just in case UMB loses it).

Yea, they gave me the pell grant..but they said they still need to put in the other forms to get my loans in. U got urs?

umm..it's been about a week since I got the Pell grant. everything else is still pending..You might wanna call and make sure they got ya. I called 2 days ago..they said they are in the process of awarding students this week.

Thanks for the info. If they're just starting to do loans then it makes sense that i haven't heard anything yet. Im not eligible for pell grants unfortunately. Did you find out about your award from sims or did they send you something?

How's your registration going? Did you get into all the classes? You taking Informatics online?

I just registered for them. The only thing that it seems we have a choice on is informatics, which i chose to take online. Ugh...these classes are so early in the morning....and theres bound to be traffic as well.

Yea..and i have been working 12 hour night shifts..so you can imagine how hard it will be for me to make the transition to be awake during the day and sleep @ night. Good thing the campus is walking distance from my house, so traffic shouldnt be a probably for me unless i'm reallly lazy that day. By the way our schedule looks hopefully ill be able to work 20hours/week(one 12hr & one 8hr shift) and make some kind of money on the side.
