University of Houston 2nd Degree BSN Spring 2017

Howdy! I couldn't find a thread started for spring 2017 admissions for U of H so I figured I'd start one. We can share stats and how we are doing through the admissions process.

I'm not super familiar with the UofH nursing program other than I've heard that it is incredibly rigorous since it is condensed into 1 year, which is the main appeal for me! I already spent 4 years in undergrad at tamu for a BS in Health.

I would love to talk to you all going through this same process!!

Did they tell you what to expect at the interview?

I got an invite too! In terms of what to expect, I only have whatever was in the original invite email. And I'd be all for a Facebook group!

The UH website says that students who are invited for acceptance will be notified in September and the final decision is made off the background check. Do y'all know anymore about this? Because if we interview Sept 30, seems like we would be notified mid October or so...

Wooo, it must mean the interview is just a formality! We're in!!

Haha but no I don't know anything about that... it's some nice fodder for wishful thinking anyway :) Actually I haven't read that, I'll have to go look it up.

Has anyone done their fingerprint yet? I have my appointment scheduled for tomorrow!

I did. It did not take long. I have a copy of the receipt but I am not sure if I can send that to the school as proof or if we have to wait for the "blue card". But I'm not sure how long that takes to get in the mail

I got an email today with over a hundred people on it. I don't think there are that many spots, I called and they said they weren't sure how many seats they had yet, it depends on facility and clincals

Hi, everyone! I got invited for interview day! That makes me happy but also anxious because I just notice that the email with the code for fingerprints was also sent to 153 other students! How many students get in the program?

I wonder if that email was sent to students for other U of H campuses/nursing programs as well

Good thinking...maybe they also send it to students who are in the traditional program. That makes me feel better but just in case we are not in yet, I will start preparing for the possible interview questions and discussion tonight.
