University Hospital in San Antonio - Group1 ??

Hi Everyone.

I will be interviewing for an ER position @ University Hospital in San Antonio. I have been blackballed in DFW d/t being terminated from a position in 2008. Thanks to Group1, new employers retract offers d/t background check. I only have 1 negative flag on group one. No other issues. All of my yearly reviews are golden - prior to/since the "incident." A HUC was getting irrate in ER, I kinda tugged on her elbow to get her into a room vs the hallway. She was loud & cursing. She reported that I had touched her in a manner which she didn't appreciate. I was a charge RN at the facility, ready to be promoted to manager the following week; instead I was terminated. Group one officially reads "unacceptable conduct."

My question is this: IS group1 used in San Antonio, specifically University Hospital? Does anyone know? Or does anyone know if HR will work with individuals & use presonal/professional references, or contact employers prior to/after 2008? My stomache is knots as you can imagine. I need a good job & insurance. I have been in 2 facilities since the incident. I did not know about group1 until I left my previous position, and took the current one. I suppose my background was clear & nothing had hit the group1 when I took a new position in 2008-immediately after the incident. My current employer doesn't use group1; so I lucked out. But now, we are relocating to SA.

Sorry for the long story, but thank to anyone that can help!!

I don't know the answer to your question my friend does work therr all really likes it she has been to other hospitals and always goes back there but here is a bump. Hope you find the answer.

I recall finding a client list for GroupOne a few months ago - linked to their website - but don't see it now. I don't recall seeing any SA or Houston area facilities on it at that time. It may have changed but I do know that the CHRISTUS Health facilities do not use Group One & there are several in the SA metro area.

Don't know how accurate it is though. Good Luck. This Group1 thing is outrageous.

Thanks for your help. I have decided it's in God's hands. I have seen the lists before - not sure how often it is updated though. Several placed use it that aren't on this particular list. I found another which list many more. I know they advertise Group1 is now "serving San Antonio & Austin" as well. I can only hope someone can see a person for a person not simply a piece of paper with no further investigation. :sarcastic:

I know Baptist reports to it. Get this - I applied for a job with them, got an offer, accepted the offer, then declined the position TWO WEEKS before orientation. They reported the job (which they shouldnt even be able to do since I NEVER WORKED THERE and put me as "Terminated - no show to orientation." After numerous threatening emails to the head of HR for all of Baptist hospitals, the language was changed to read "Declined position prior to orientation." See how something so STUPID can get you black balled from DFW and other parts of TX? It's not just here.. it IS spreading in the state.

Mind if I ask where your current position is that doesn't use it? I have two dings from when I first started nursing for not leaving a two week notice. yeah I know.. stupid. My fault and I own up to it. I even disclosed this up front to a potential job recently, but the higher ups in HR canned the offer after my recruiter said due to my honesty it should be fine. LUCKILY, all negative remarks/language disappear after 7 years from when you left the position. So... 3 years for me to go until it falls off. yay me. That's about the time I'll be graduating grad school...
