University of Hawaii at Manoa GEPN-DNP FALL 2024

Published

Hello,

Has anybody submitted their application yet? Just opening this forum since the application cycle has started.

Just out of curiosity, for those who aren't in yet, what other schools are you applying to? This program seems to be one of the few accelerated programs in the state and having to get another 4-year degree is not ideal. Just wondering if y'all have any insight.

I unfortunately received my denial letter sometime last week. Since then I somehow scrambled to find 8 graduate programs that are either similar to UHM's GEPN or a program that will be a good start to become a NP eventually. I will not name all of them, but some notable ones are Yale GEPN, Vanderbilt pre-specialty nursing, UPenn MPN-to-MSN program, USF MSN, and Marquette MSN program. All of these are accelerated programs, and would be a good step in the right direction for me personally. For Yale, Vanderbilt, and Marquette they are on rolling admissions, while UPenn and USF are due Feb. 1st...yes I have had a lot of fun these last two weeks rushing to complete them : ) hope this helps!

Thank you Kate for the insight! I'm sorry to hear about the denial letter but your resilience and perseverance are sure to help you get into an even better nursing school and become a great nurse. Best of luck to you!

I have only applied to the UH Manoa GEPN program right now. I was considering other nursing programs, however this is my #1 program for me right now. I'm also almost finished with most of my pre-requisites... keeping my fingers crossed for right now.

Yes, fingers crossed for all of us waiting!? I just wish they would give us a clearer timeline of when to expect each round of acceptances. ?

Did anyone else on the alternate list hear back? I know someone who was on it that got accepted today!

Hi, unfortunately I have not heard back yet... do you know what program that person got accepted to?

Both ms and DNP are together the first year your pre licensing year. So you'll have about 48 students in class daily

Hi everyone, just wanted to come on here again. Has anyone heard back from the waitlist? Still keeping my fingers crossed ?

Still haven't heard anything ?

Can anybody provide me with a link to other direct entry programs within U.S. for those without a nursing degree wanting to get a DNP?!
