I wanted to start this forum for all applying for the UF BSN-DNP for Fall 2023. I know applications just opened up last month but wanted to start early! I personally applied for the Fall 2021 cycle, sadly did not make it. The email I received stated there were too many applicants that cycle. So after a move to ER nursing from med surg and raising my babies just a little more; I have decided to give this another go!!
After seeing your posts I was up all night going back through the previous years posts ? in 2021 they actually sent out acceptance/denial emails in batches, even weeks apart, and there were still acceptances as much as a month later (I don't think that will happen to us). Last year it did seem like it was within 2 days and some were still accepted on day 2. But each time it did seem to happen towards the end of the day on a Thursday and Friday. I'm thinking it even possible that if we don't hear one way or another today, it could go on as long as next Thursday and Friday, since that's still considered "early April". Keep your head up! And congratulations to everyone accepted so far ?

You are so encouraging! And just what I need on this day. LOL thank you!! ❤️ @JennaRN01
truthfully, definitely wish I would've done more digging before applying. I thought it was more like you sign up and make the commitment for school and that's it, like I did with my associates, then, my bachelors. Not realizing that there was a potential for such a letdown. And then when it was said and done and I already applied I wished I would've put more effort and strategy into my responses. Or picked a different program to apply for... I work in nephrology, mainly in Dialysis, of all settings. Peritoneal, home hemo, chronic hemodialysis, acute kidney injury, etc. Before applying to the AGACNP I asked the program director if I was even suitable for FNP and Mailing said they suggested AGACNP with my specialty. Then I was reading all of these post that you have to have one year of actual ICU/critical care to even get considered. Dialysis is and can be critical but it's specific and not actually critical care managing the various disease processes. I looked everywhere trying to find that in UF and it doesn't mention it like it did on the USF requirements (that I just saw lastnight btw) LOL
now I'm like, did I just waste my application on a program that I would not even get considered for? And kind of put myself in a position to be let down because I should've looked into it more. Or is there actually a chance for me.. LOL
Sorry to dump on you guys.. I'm just stressed and treating this post like a diary. LOL
Listen, we're not out till we're out! ?❤️
I believe I've read in previous years that UF did not require ICU experience, and I was even on the fence for applying to their AGACNP program vs their FNP and I have no ICU experience either. From the researching I've done they follow a holistic approach when admitting students, which I hope is the case because my overall GPA could be better due to failing and dropping a few pre-req courses 10 years ago after having my first child, but my nursing GPA is great, about 3.7.
Here's another thought: what if they go in alphabetical order? My last name starts with S, what about you guys? In previous years people were getting acceptances and denials within the same day, maybe they literally go down the applicant list one by one and send out their decision that way?
My last name begins with a G though & still nothing yet. I have a strong feeling I did not get in though. I did my BSN at UF but it was at the height of the pandemic & my GPA was not stellar.
I am thankful though that I did get into 2 other dnp programs—UF was just my number 1 choice. We'll see how today goes.
No denial email yet but it's safe to say I'll be sitting with my phone screen open to my e-mail all day long LOL ??? I was selected for an interview with FGCU, I haven't prepared myself for an interview yet so I'm waiting until I get the decision from UF to even schedule the interview ? LOL

MY SISTER SAID THE SAME THING TO ME THIS MORNING. The girl I know that got her acceptance into the AGACNP program, her last name starts with B.
my last name also starts with S!

@Nurse Grace876 I feel the same way. The NCLEX. I did the method where you try to re-register and if it lets you, the idea is that you didn't pass.. LOL atleast I got some hope from that, though I don't know just how accurate it is. Made me feel better anyway LOL
@ars.souza SEE, there's our little bit of hope we can hold onto LOL! Even if it does take until next Friday to find out ??

I agree with souza; they should just send them all out in one shot. Let everyone know at the same time so there's no wondering ?
