University of Florida (UF) BSN-DNP Fall 2023

Updated:   Published

I wanted to start this forum for all applying for the UF BSN-DNP for Fall 2023. I know applications just opened up last month but wanted to start early! I personally applied for the Fall 2021 cycle, sadly did not make it. The email I received stated there were too many applicants that cycle. So after a move to ER nursing from med surg and raising my babies just a little more; I have decided to give this another go!!

Hmmm, they might really be making the rest of us wait until the end of next week ?? when I looked at my email it said "the second wave" would be the end of this week.. I guess not necessarily that final wave ??‍♀️

I just need a yes or no at this point. I can't keep checking my email 500 times a day ?

Sorry if I missed this portion of the conversation, but when did everyone send their applications in?

my friend that got accepted sent hers early December

I submitted my UF graduate application early December but my NursingCAS wasn't complete and submitted until like the day before the deadline!

UF application was submitted October 8 and NursingCAS in early December.

My UF application was sent in late August and my NursingCAS application was submitted on 10/22.

Specializes in OB, Psych, DNP-S.

I submitted both on 2/1, and got acceptance. I really don't think they start evaluating them until after the due date.

I think you're right! I honestly believe they are sending acceptances on a priority basis.. say the "top 10" applications, then the next top 10, and so on. That's the only thing that makes sense to me ??‍♀️

I believe they didn't start until after the due date, but was sure if they were releasing acceptance based on application completion date like they did for BSN.

Specializes in Nephrology.

I just think it's WILD that they only accept like 10 applicants per program. That seems like such a minuscule amount in comparison to the volume of applications they must receive.

It's insane. I'm sure they'll be sending more out based out how many people commit with a deposit for their seat.

If that's the case then I think they should waitlist people like other universities do. Much more nerve settling than telling people the first week of April and not sending anything.

ABSOLUTELY!! I agree 100%; then people would be able to make some decisions and plan out their lives accordingly. Why beat around the bush?
