Can anyone provide advice regarding the UC online Master's Programs (for NP)? Any positive or negative feedback would be helpful, as well as any personal experiences/words of advice.
Thanks very much...looking for your feedback
I'm psych and I started fall 2010...only thing I don't like is you are TOTALLY on your own to find clinicals and so you better start early. UC's idea of clinical help is telling you to look through the yellow pages. Sure.
Most doctors don't like students, particularly not paying students, and even if the doc likes you, their supervisor/board may not want students at the facility. Or even if a place has students, they may be suspicious of adding a solo student from an unknown "distance" university. The hospitals in Ohio are reserved for the ground students.
Other than this preceptor mess, I love online. The convenience, quarter system, ease of things couldn't be better.
Hi all,
It looks like there have been a few of you that should be in the FNP or Adult NP program by now, how is it going so far? I have applied for the Spring ANP program beginning in Jan 2012, and as others have stated, I'm a bit nervous about finding my own preceptor. I thought about going my local FL department of health out patient clinic, has anybody done this with success? Can anybody share who they have asked and been successful with?
In addition, how long does it take to get your acceptance or denial letter? The admissions counselor said it could take up to 12 weeks?
I really appreciate any and all responses!
Thanks!!
